Park in the car park at Champagney Town Hall.
(S/E) Turn right onto Avenue de la Gare, follow the Blue Triangle signposting, turning left after the Champagney War Memorial towards Mont de Serre and the hamlet of Champey. After 400 metres, a sign for La Rochotte points left to join the route.
(1) Take the wide path marked with Blue Triangles, which leads to the actual starting point. Here you’ll find a signpost with a map.
(2) Follow the Yellow Ring markings to the right along the path, which is lined with streams, to the La Rochotte viewpoint. Make the most of this spot to take in the valley, from Belfort to Ronchamp, and, in good weather in the morning, the Jura Mountains and the Swiss Alps.
(3) Follow the ascending ridge line to the right-angled junction at the highest point.
(4) Turn left onto the descending ridge path to reach another right-angled junction.
(5) Turn left onto the steep path marked with Yellow Triangles. Join a wider track after crossing a small stream.
(6) Follow this track, taking a wide circular loop to the left and then a hairpin bend to the right which crosses the Attémas stream, to reach the junction you passed on the way out.
(2) Follow the route you took on the way there in the opposite direction to return to the car park at Champagney Town Hall (S/E).
