At the curious turquoise Planey spring, "witches" with supposed evil powers used to gather for their sabbaths.

The Colombine river has its source in Charcenne at the foot of the Leffond Chapel. Charcenne is a land of cheese and wine. A cheese dairy and nurseries provide many jobs in the area.

Argillières is a small village steeped in legend... Its castle is said to have been home in the 18th century to the famous bandit Mandrin, a hero to the people but a thief whom the authorities were determined to bring down at any cost. Concealed by a high wall, this castle, built in the 17th and 18th centuries, is now mainly occupied during the summer months.

Wandering along the banks of the Colombine is the very charm of this country path.

In a rural landscape where industry has nevertheless left its mark, let's follow the route of the jalopy, which stopped in each village to load goods.

Between dirt tracks, cattle tracks and stone bridges spanning the Salon, you will enjoy a pleasant walk discovering remarkable architectural heritage (churches, fountains, calvaries, etc.).

This route will allow you to discover the countryside and woods of the villages of Geneuille and Cussey-sur-l'Ognon. The route is not difficult and follows well-marked paths and forest roads.

The municipality of Velleclaire is divided into two parts by the D474 road: an upper section on the Route de Vantoux and a lower section on the other side, featuring a small wooded area. It is this lower part that you will explore. This small village of 105 inhabitants is home to a charming 19th-century chapel. The settlement consists mainly of farmhouses, some of which have beautiful cellar entrances and very interesting architectural features.

Rupt-sur-Saône is a small picturesque village in the Saône valley, at the foot of three hills, close to a salt road and a Roman road The nearby forest is home to the ghosts of the medieval loves of the Crusader Jean de Rupt, while the Saône offers the pleasures of fishing and boat trips.

Founded by the first Christian missionaries from Ireland, Fontaine-lès-Luxeuil has preserved the memory of times gone by in the stones of its built heritage. You’ll also be charmed by the gentle tranquillity that reigns in the neighbouring forests.

Starting from the Maison de la Nature, located on the banks of the Ognon in a former mill, this walk leads to the woods of Brussey, then offers beautiful panoramic views of the Château de Ruffey and the Ognon.

Nestled in lush green surroundings, 8 km from Champlitte, the village of Pierrecourt boasts:a washhouse, ‘Le Magny’a covered fountain, “Coulvot”, just outside the village.

Colombe-lès-Vesoul, perched on the edge of the limestone plateau, overlooks the green and narrow Colombine valley. The 18th-century castle marks the entrance to the old village.

Among the natural attractions of this walk are the resurgence of the Font de Champdamoy and its pumping station, which supplies Vesoul and seven other towns (the spring has long been renowned), and the resurgence of the Frais Puits, which has been the subject of numerous explorations by cave divers who found mammoth molars there!

White cherry trees, red stones and the pearlescent building of the eco-museum – you’ll see a whole spectrum of colours, always a delight.

It’s well worth venturing deep into the woods to discover the ruins of the Cistercian Abbey of Cherlieu.

A refreshing immersion in the greenery of the woods, which can be punctuated by a nature-and-gourmet break in Aboncourt-Gésincourt, where a farmhouse inn satisfies your appetite with delicious home-made produce.

Conflandey has two wetland nature reserves, comprising 300 hectares of water bodies for fishing and water sports, as well as a cave known as the Grotte du Carrousel, a sanctuary for bats.

The starting point, the cemetery, is already an extraordinary place due to its circular shape.Listed as a Historic Monument since 2004, there are only three cemeteries of this shape in France.

The village of La Rochelle takes its name from ‘Roche’, in the medieval sense of a hilltop on which a fortified castle stands. This small village is clustered around the castle square; the water from its fountains adds to its charm and authenticity.

This lovely circular walk starting from Velleguindry-et-Levrecey takes you on a journey of discovery through a landscape typical of the Haut-Saône countryside, alternating between woods, valleys and small local heritage sites.The route begins in the heart of the village, near the fountain and the wash houses, reminders of its rural past. Very soon, the route climbs gently towards the Bois des Rauchots, offering a chance to immerse yourself in a peaceful, shaded forest.
