Wardlow CP walks

This circular Peak District walk starts in Tideswell Dale and continues through Miller's Dale into Ravensdale. The route is an ideal introduction to this area which is popular for walkers.

A gentle circular walk through 5 dales in the White Peak starting at Tideswell visiting Tideswell Dale, Miller's Dale, Water-cum-Jolly Dale, Cressbrook Dale and Tansley Dale. As well as seeing the beauty of these dales you pass two historic mills (Litton Mill & Cressbrook Mill now converted to flats) which were at the forefront of Britain's Industrial Revolution. Tideswell is a bustling Peak District village with plenty of amenities and makes a perfect place to celebrate the completion of this walk.

A circular Peak District Walk that inclues a number of the highlights of the area to the west of Bakewell. The route includes sections along the River Wye, visits Monsal Head, uses a section of the Monsal Trail and Great Shacklow Wood. The walk does have a sting in the tail as there is a lengthy ascent towards the end of the walk.

This Peak District circuit visits the hamlet of Brushfield before following the Wye Valley back to the start. The walk passes infamous Litton Mill, Cressbrook and Monsal Head.

We decided to walk the 13 k up to Grindleford (3h30 walk) and catch the train from there (1 hour to Manchester Piccadilly). The start is a bit abrupt, the section along the river splendid, and there is a pub 5 minutes before the train station, if you've missed your train (or if you're early for the next one)...

A lovely river walk from Haddon Grove Farm Campsite taking in Lathkill Dale, Tufa Dam waterfall and Lathkill Head Cave.

A picturesque walk with some steep climbs. Starts in Castleton and takes the limestone way through Cave Dale. The walk then works is way overland to Mam Tor and along the Great Ridge to Back Tor. From here the walk goes towards Blue John Cavern before descending via Winnat's Pass and then over the field back to Castleton. Some steep climbs most notably Mam Tor and Back Tor - also some steep and rocky terrain/descents.

Hollins Cross, Mam Tor and Cavedale are highlights of this Peak District walk from Castleton. The walk includes both Dark and White Peak scenery and generally follows well marked footpaths.

Wander via field paths and country lanes through the villages of Flagg and Chelmorton, returning on the High Peak Trail. A shortcut along the Pennine Bridleway, omitting Chelmorton village, cuts a mile off the distance.

Follow flower-lined green lanes to two limestone villages, and sample a short stretch of the High Peak Trail. Some gentle climbs, and muddy ground may be encountered after wet weather.

Really lovely varied walk starting at Calton Lees and climbing up to Calton Pastures with great views over the surrounding area of Bakewell and Chatsworth House. After passing the house climb through Stand Wood and return to the car park via Beeley.

This Peak District route is a classic offering some great views from Rushup Edge before dropping down to the picturesque dale above Edale. The route is rarely quiet and on good days there are usually many people enjoying this walk.

This Peak District walk starts from Edale and explores Rushup Edge, Brown Knoll, Edale Cross, Crowden Tower and Grindslow Knoll. The route contains many of the key features of this dramatic part of the Derbyshire Peak district and should be saved for a fine day.

Grindsbrook and Edale Head are two of the highlights of this Peak District walk from Edale. Superb walking high above Edale on the Kinder Scout Plateau provides excellent views over this part of Derbyshire. Choose a good day for this route as poor weather makes navigation tricky.

A Peak District walk that explores the eastern end of the Kinder plateau. Starting from Edale the route follows the slopes of Kinder to reach Hope Cross. From here the walk continues to gain height and follows a high level route for the return via Ringing Roger to Edale.
