The walk does have a sting in the tail as there is a lengthy ascent towards the end of the walk.

This ridge walk is a very popular excursion mainly because of the excellent views.

A Peak District walk that explores the eastern end of the Kinder plateau. Starting from Edale the route follows the slopes of Kinder to reach Hope Cross. From here the walk continues to gain height and follows a high level route for the return via Ringing Roger to Edale.

This Peak District walk from Castleton takes you south and crosses some typical limestone scenery, providing some good views across the valley to Castleton's Great Ridge. You walk through Cave Dale and are also descend through the dramatic Winnats Pass.

Very easy walk with a choice of well sign-posted routes through the woods on the north side of the water. Suitable for playing Gruffalo Woods with the kids! It's not worth taking scooters as the uneven ground will undoubtedly tip them off and bikes are not allowed.

This is a short urban walk around the centre of Ilkeston which traces the connections of the town to the Pentrich Rising of 1817. In the early 1800s Ilkeston was a village of 2000 people. William Felkin, born here in 1795, a framework knitter or stockinger, became mayor of Nottingham and a respected historian. He recalled that ‘the streets were dirty and unpaved’ and ‘noted the ‘squalid wretchedness of their abodes’, many ‘little better than huts inside or outside. This is Walk 23 of the Pentrich and South Wingfield Revolution group.

A mixture of craggy gritstone uplands and softer valley country, including a section of the Peak Forest Tramway.
