Around Richardménil through the woods and along the canals
A getaway from the centre of Richardménil to its neighbouring towns: Méréville, Messein, Ludres and Fléville. This almost triangular route follows or runs alongside the old freight routes: the Canal de l'Est, now the Canal des Vosges, the Canal de Jonction and the old railway lines serving the Ludres-Fléville industrial zone. If you cross this industrial zone during the week, you will understand why barges and trains no longer run in the area...

Circuit de Ludres par Messein
Circular starting from Ludres, crossing the old village, with panoramic views of the Moselle valley above Messein and crossing the Cité d'Affrique (Camp Leuque). A gentle section on the plateau but also some steep passages. Route designed to accumulate elevation gain (well suited to Nordic walking) but with possible detours.

Entrainement montagne ou trail autour du plateau de Ludres
A very varied route for those who enjoy long hikes or training in the mountains or on trails. Hikers will appreciate the views, while trail runners will enjoy the alternation between flat sections and steep slopes. The route is designed to achieve a relatively high elevation gain/length ratio for this region. There are numerous shortcuts available if needed.Updated in December 2025.
From the Ludres plateau to the Houdemont hillsides
A roller coaster ride around the Grand Canyon with beautiful views of Nancy, the south of the conurbation, the Vermois and the Vosges (Donon). The route is designed as two circular loops with a viewpoint in the middle. An easy section (start and finish) through the classic forest of the Plateau de Haye, but also a beautiful limestone lawn; a passage by the Fonteno stream in the heart of the old village of Houdemont and a more technical section on the hillside, with alternating flat sections and sometimes steep climbs.

Tour of the Ludres plateau via the cliffs and the Cité d'Affrique
This is an easy hike, passing by the Saint-Joseph cliffs and the Cité d'Affrique, mainly in the woods, offering beautiful views of the Saint-Joseph cliffs and the Moselle valley, and allowing you to explore the ruins of the Cité (also known as Camp) d'Affique, a Gallic archaeological site dating from the early Iron Age, around 500 BC.

From Fléville to Lupcourt in the footsteps of the past
A route combining a visit to Fléville-devant-Nancy with its Renaissance castle and the rolling landscapes of the Vermois; it follows some sections used in the distant past (a Gallo-Roman road) or more recently (harnessed horses at the beginning of the 20th century).

The cliffs of Bois des Roches from Chavigny
Complete tour of the cliffs overlooking the commune of Messein, following them along the top and at their foot. Beautiful views of the natural evolution of the sedimentary massifs. Caution is advised on the cliff edge.
Around Gérardcourt and Laneuveville-Devant-Nancy
A pleasant walk around Fléville, Gérardcourt and Laneuveville-Devant-Nancy, combining the countryside (panoramic view of the surrounding towns) and walking along the canal with its locks and birds.

Many fruit trees to see along the way. Departure from Coyviller, then visit Manoncourt-en-Vermois, the Charles Sonnoni memorial and return to Coyviller.

A hike on the outskirts of Nancy offering a variety of landscapes, with forest sections and open areas around Chaligny.

A beautiful walk through the forest and along the Moselle with a lovely viewpoint halfway along the route, complete with a bench.

On the Varangéville plateau
Varangéville is the last town in France with an active mine. This mine extracts rock salt.
This hike offers views of the mine facilities and the Basilica of Saint-Nicolas-de-Port.
On the heights of Vigneulles
A beautiful walk through orchards, with views of the Vosges mountains and Nancy. This walk is particularly interesting in April when the mirabelle plum trees are in bloom.
In the middle of the six woods of Saulxures-lès-Nancy
A pleasant walk taking you past Saulxures Castle, the pretty village of Saulxures and its surroundings.
Walk in Barbonville
This easy walk will take you to a Romanesque church rebuilt in 1870, featuring a tower and a triple nave.
You can also discover a draisine that could pull small wagons, after crossing the sensitive natural area of Le Plain. This protected area is rich in flora and fauna.
Around Haroué
A hilly circuit where you can enjoy the Saintois countryside and the nearby Madon, with breathtaking views of the Château d'Haroué (9) and the hill of Sion.
The Malzéville Plateau tour

Circular from Dommartin-sous-Amance via Blanzey, Laître-sous-Amance and Amance
A route of four villages with magnificent views of the countryside (Pain de Sucre, start of the Seille valley) and the Vosges mountains on a clear day. Pass by the Priory of Blanzey, which is private property but accessible on foot.
Circular between the villages of Velaine-sous-Amance and Réméréville
A circular starting from Velaine-sous-Amance, towards the village of Réméréville. Pass through the Bois de Champenoux, steeped in history from the First World War, then head towards Réméréville along country lanes. Return via small roads, passing in front of Romémont Castle and the Chapelle de Froide Terre chapel.
Circular starting from Velaine-sous-Amance towards Cerville and Laneuvelotte.
A circular starting from the village of Velaine-sous-Amance, taking a small road to the village of Cerville, passing the old castle and church, then heading towards Laneuvelotte along field paths and small roads, crossing the underground gas storage facility and enjoying views of the Château de Voirincourt. Arrival in Laneuvelotte, then return to Velaine-sous-Amance via the quiet D86 road, passing in front of Tremblois Castle.
Circular between Dommartin-sous-Amance, Eulmont and Agincourt
A circular starting from Dommartin-sous-Amance to the hillside village of Eulmont with its castle, returning via Agincourt and the Pain de Sucre tour. A short detour can be made to visit the Blanzey chapel, a historic monument.
