Start in Messein, on the cycle path alongside the Canal de l’Est, beneath the bridge on Rue des Étangs. Parking available after the bridge.
(S/E) Head towards the bridge, turn right to go down towards the canal, then left to pass under the bridge. Continue along the cycle path westwards and follow the arrows for “les boucles de la Moselle”.
(1) At the junction with another path, turn right, then left and pass between the two ponds. At the next junction, turn left then straight on, Rue du Haut du Clos (beware of vehicles). Follow the factory, pass under the road bridge, then under the railway bridge, and join Avenue Aristide Briand (end of signposting).
(2) Turn left and cross the Moselle. After the bridge, make a 360° left turn, go down the stairs and join a cycle path.
(3) At the bottom of the stairs, turn right and follow the banks of the Moselle. Go under the railway bridge, cross the Madon footbridge and turn right. At the junction with Rue de Méréville, go straight on and go under the D331D.
(4) Continue along the cycle path alongside the road, turning left then straight on. Cross the bridge reserved for cyclists and pedestrians and continue along the cycle path to the entrance to Méréville.
(5) At the entrance to the village, between two houses, turn left and go straight on to go round the ponds.

(6) At the sports ground, turn left. When you reach the pond, turn right and, after about ten metres, turn right again to join the D331B.
(7) Before the D331B, turn right and walk through the green space between the road and the sports ground until you reach the next junction with a small road.
At the junction with the small road, turn right and, at the stop sign, cross the D331B with care. Head along the track opposite, pass by the side of the gate, and continue – heading north – along this track situated below the road.
Reach the road running alongside the Moselle. Then turn right onto the small road towards Messein and cross over the Moselle.
(8) Before the canal, turn left onto the cycle path, follow the signs for “Les boucles de la Moselle” along the canal and head to the car park (S/E).
