Start of the hike on a small square at the end of Rue des Friches in Flavigny sur Moselle
(S/E) Walk along the canal for a few steps and take the first path up into the woods on the left, pass the anti-car barrier and continue straight ahead.
(1) Join the D115, cross the road, turn right and then immediately left onto the forest track. After passing through a barrier to prevent cars entering, take the second path on the left at a Y-junction and continue straight ahead.
(2) At the water tower, take the hairpin bend to the right and continue along this path, which turns left twice to reach the Bois Impérial housing estate.
(3) At the end of the road, turn right onto Avenue de l'Empereur. Cross the bridge over the motorway and join the Nancy road.
(4) Cross this road at the pedestrian crossing and turn left. Continue along the pavement to reach the church.
(5) Walk around the church for a view of the Moselle and, on leaving, take the small alley on the left. At the end of the alley, turn left onto Rue de Laval. At the next crossroads, turn right and continue downhill towards the small canal. At the end of the street, continue straight ahead and cross the bridge over the small canal.
(6) At the end of the bridge, turn left onto the footbridge path. When you reach the Canal de l'Est, turn left onto the first path, Chemin de la Sablière.
(7) At the end of the path, turn right to cross over the Canal de l'Est or Canal des Vosges and after the bridge take the path on the left along the canal. Pass under the motorway and join the D570 by taking the middle path.
(8) When you reach the D570, cross the road and turn left, then take the first road on the right, cross the small canal and turn right to reach the car park (S/E).
