A pleasant hike starting from Antignac, winding its way through vineyards and woods. This route allows you to discover a peaceful and very natural corner of Saintonge. You may see wild animals such as deer at the edge of the woods.

The route is slightly hilly, with a significant section in the woods, ending at the edge of a very picturesque pond. This is a particularly suitable spot for a picnic, but bring a table as the few available are often occupied by fishermen.

Formed by the confluence of the Garonne and Dordogne rivers, the Gironde Estuary is the largest estuary in Western Europe (600 km²) and the best preserved in terms of landscape and environment. Bordered by the vineyards of Médoc and Côtes de Blaye, this estuary is home to many inhabited and uninhabited islands that are well worth visiting.

Take a section of the Tours route on the way to Santiago de Compostela to reach the village of Plassac with its old streets and immerse yourself in antiquity as you discover the Gallo-Roman villa! Head to the banks of the Gironde, reach the marina and set off to conquer the hillsides. Shady paths, vineyard landscapes and beautiful views around the Vierge de Montuzet are all on the menu for this walk!

Route suggested by the Association for the Preservation of Gauriacais Heritage. Magnificent views of the Gironde estuary, the Bec d'Ambès, the Île du Nord and the Médoc. The route is dotted with beautiful houses belonging to sea captains, fishermen, carrelets (fishing huts) and troglodyte dwellings, all the way to the small port of Roque-de-Thau. It also crosses a protected wooded area, the Château de Thau and the church... 17 information panels provide walkers with information about the sites and structures they encounter.

A very beautiful walk in the woods, with very little road. Accessible on foot or by mountain bike.

Discover the rich fauna and flora of the Né valley in this Natura 2000 classified area - a nature protected zone with many diverse and protected species and plants, such as the European Mink (a little known species near extinction) and wild orchids, as well as many other species naturally found in a preserved environment.

The starting point of the route, Guîtres Abbey (11th and 15th centuries) is an imposing monument located on the Way of St James. We will continue our walk through the gentle Pays Gabay (pronounced gabaye) to meet three rivers, the Isle, the Dronne and the Lary.
