Hautefeuille walks

A country walk in the Grand Morin valley, with the mills of Coude and Prémol. Note: actual elevation gain: approximately double the calculation, i.e. 260 m. Avoid in wet weather. Caution! The route has been modified at the Moulin de Prémol due to the removal of the footbridge over the railway line.

A hike from station to station between the Grand Morin valley and its hillsides, with a varied route through woods, fields, meadows and old orchards. It is also an opportunity to admire two of the old mills that were once scattered along the river.

At the confluence of two Briard rivers, this is a bucolic hike that alternates between woodland and fields with short passages through small villages.

Hike in the Forest of Malvoisine, starting from Mauperthuis, passing by the Chapel of Sainte-Aubierge, with its spring and wash house.

A short hike from station to station that starts along the Grand Morin and then climbs the hillsides on its right bank. The river reappears at La Celle-sur-Morin with its old mills and charming church. The hike ends on the left bank, mainly between fields.

The suggested loop alternates between passages near the Grand Morin through the countryside, woods and Briard hamlets with their carved stone houses. The entire route is accessible by train. For enthusiasts, there are many horses, particularly at the horse farm.

This circular allows you to enjoy the beautiful forests, mainly oak, of the Crécy Forest. Three-quarters of the route is in the woods, while the rest takes you through two charming villages, each with a remarkable castle and an elegant church. A few other points of interest are indicated, including the memorial to the poet Étienne Jodelle (1532-1573), a contemporary of the much better-known Pierre Ronsard. The forest was very lively when I visited (at the end of December): despite a large wild boar hunt in progress, I saw three deer (in three different places) and a fox. The GPX track can be very useful in the forest, given the various changes in direction.

A hike from station to station that takes us from the Morin rivers area to the Brie plateau. After a long stretch through the Crécy Forest, the route alternates between fields and woods, with beautiful heritage sites in Les Égrefins and in the centre of Tournan.

A hike from station to station that starts at the edge of the forest. You then cross a cultivated plateau before descending into the Grand Morin valley. The route ends between the river and canals.

A country walk in the Aubetin valley, via Mauperthuis, Esse, the hamlet of Paradis and Saints, with mills and the river. Lots of quiet, pleasant little roads for when the paths are too muddy.Note: The annotations (*) refer to the chapter "During the hike or nearby".

Comprising three villages and three hamlets, this commune is located about 50 kilometres east of Paris. The village of Lumigny is situated at the foot of a sand hill, similar in nature to the Butte de Doue.

Three small villages are marked on the map at each point of a right-angled triangle. This is an easy walk with no particular difficulties. There are no climbs, so no effort is required, and the flat countryside is full of charming little spots to discover.

A hike from station to station that alternates between paths through fields and wooded areas. The Sainte-Aubierge Chapel is a peaceful place to stop for a break.

After walking through the Parc des Capucins and a few paths in Coulommiers, climb up to the former Commandery of the Knights Templar. The route continues mainly between cultivated fields with a few beautiful farmhouses along the way and the beautiful church of Aulnoy. After descending, follow the Grand Morin valley before a final short climb.

From the medieval town of Coulommiers to Provins, via a loop around the Marne in the Paris suburbs, a series of walks starting from a station and crossing the Brie plain, its villages and its rich heritage.

Nineteenth stage of the Grand Tour of Île-de-France via the GR®11, entirely in Brie, and first stage of a series of three necessary to connect Coulommiers station to Provins station, with two nights on site. As accommodation options are limited in the middle of Brie, it is suggested for this stage to head to La Ferté-Gaucher aerodrome, which is slightly off the GR® route, near which there is a hotel-restaurant where it is possible to spend the night. Although this adds several kilometres to the stage, it offers a good compromise between the length of this stage and the following ones, the longest possible route on the GR® and the proximity to Provins. But this is not the only option, of course: see the Practical Information section for other suggestions.

A varied walk through fields, woods and the old town, where many eras coexist.

This walk will allow you to discover the town of Coulommiers, its old houses, the Parc des Capucins, the Grand-Morin and its vannages, as well as the old slaughterhouse, which is currently being renovated. This is a walk without any particular difficulties.

This walk offers views of the Yerres, a priory, two wash houses and cows, alternating between woods and fields.

An original route from south to north, more rural than wooded, passing through interesting villages. The zigzag route makes it easy to shorten for those intimidated by the distance: we recommend cutting from point to point, which allows you to visit all the villages along the route, reducing the distance to less than 20 km. Only the aqueduct section would then be left out.The start and finish are accessible by bus from the Chessy-Marne-la-Vallée RER-TGV station, or by train.

Between Villiers and Crécy, you walk along the hillsides through fields, meadows and small woods. Crécy-la-Chapelle offers views of its canal, beautiful old houses, the Church of Saint-Georges and the Moulin Saint-Martin, as well as a very pleasant walk along the Grand Morin.
