Departure from Guérard - La Celle-sur-Morin station (access by train or car, see § Practical information).
(S/E) From the car park, head east and quickly reach Rue des Prêches. Follow this street to the right and cross the railway line via the bridge. Let the road turn right and climb the stairs opposite. Cross Rue de Bellevue.
(1) Immediately turn left onto a grassy path running parallel to Rue de Bellevue and, after about 100 metres, turn right along the path. Walk up through the field to the T-junction.
(2) Turn left towards the antenna. The path joins a road, which you should follow to the right. Take the first street on the right, which climbs and turns into a path. Pass the first crossroads and continue on the path that climbs between two fields.
(3) When the path curves to the right, climb up the gentler slope on the left and head east between the fields. At the hamlet of Montlevon, cross a road by first turning left then right. Continue eastwards along the edge of the gardens.
(4) Turn onto the first path on the left and descend towards the village. You will come out onto a small street; follow it to the right. Very quickly, you will come out onto Grande Rue; follow it to the right as well. Immediately take the first left, Rue de la Pisserotte. Ignore the street on the right and pass under the railway line.
(5) At the end of the passage, turn left and follow the railway line. At the next crossing, go down a steep path on the right, the right-hand side of which has been converted into a stream channel (Rue des Roches). Leave the church on your right. You will arrive at Rue d'en Bas.
(6) Turn left then right to head towards the three bridges of Grand Morin (old mill). Once you have passed the last bridge, continue on your right past a picnic area (table and bench). At the Y-junction, turn left and stay on the main path which heads north-north-east into the woods. Continue to the houses, ignoring four paths on the right and one on the left.
(7) Cross Rue de Coulommiers and continue straight ahead. The path climbs after crossing a stream. At the end, climb up to the right and then turn left 50 metres further on. Soon, you will walk alongside an orchard (no trespassing). At the end of the orchard, go down the small road on the left for about 200 metres.
(8) Then take a path on the right that leads into the woods (watch out for this path). At the T-junction, turn left and stay on the path heading south-west then west, ignoring all the other paths until you reach a three-way junction.
(9) Then turn left and follow the path as it winds sharply downhill. When you reach the road, turn right and head towards Guérard. At the bridge on the left, continue straight ahead for a few metres.
(10) Immediately turn right onto Ruelle de la Grimpette. Continue straight up and ignore a path on the right. When you reach the road, follow it to the left and downhill to the entrance of the horse farm.
(11) Leave the road and take the path on the right. Walk along the left side of the woods for a long time, staying on fairly flat ground. Go further into the woods. At a three-way junction, turn left and descend steeply. At the next crossroads, join the GR®1 (red and white markings + yellow markings) and turn left. You will soon reach the Grand Morin, which you cross via a footbridge.
(12) Turn immediately left and walk past the mill on your left. Climb up to the first crossroads. Then turn left (yellow markings), leaving the GR® trail straight ahead. Follow a small road that runs alongside the railway embankment. At the first intersection, take the tunnel on the right that passes underneath.
(13) Immediately afterwards, take the winding path on the left to Rue des Petits Jardins in the village of Génevray. At the end, turn right.
(14) Go up Rue de Paradis on the right. Cross Rue des Prêches and, at Rue d'en Haut, first turn left then right to follow Rue Verte. At the end, continue along a path and you will come to an intersection you passed on the way there.
(1) Turn left, cross Rue de Bellevue and continue along the path. Cross the railway bridge and turn left to return to the car park (S/E).
