Between Lesse and Our
Starting from the Notre-Dame de Beauraing Chapel, situated on the edge of the woods to the east of Porcheresse, the walk takes you mainly through woodland to discover the confluence of the Our and the Lesse before following the course of the Lesse upstream via two pretty stone bridges: the Pont Marie-Thérèse and the Pont de la Justice.On the return journey, the route leaves the Lesse, passes through Maissin and crosses the Our at Our via another pretty stone bridge before returning to the starting point.
Graide, Gedinne and Gaide
Set off from Graide on a circular walk to Gedinne. Stop for a bite to eat at L'Hôtel de la Poste, a high-quality restaurant. Enjoy the varied landscapes before returning to Graide via a different path. Remember to check the restaurant's opening hours.
Exploring the Graide Maquis
Like many other Ardennes woodlands, the one between Graide and Haut-Fays was home to a Maquis camp in 1944. This walk takes you to discover this camp and part of the woodland to the north of the route of the old tram line that once linked Graide to Wellin.
The Rogifosse stream
Starting from the Daverdisse mill, this route is exclusively through the forest, returning along the Rogifosse stream, a tributary of La Mache, which you will find in the last kilometre.
L'Almache and the Belvédère
A circular forest between Daverdisse and Fays-Famenne with a magnificent diversity of trees and streams near the Lesse valley. Although entirely forested, the route offers panoramic and rural landscapes for a good kilometre near Fays-Famenne.

In the footsteps of the resistance fighters between Gedinne and Graide
The walk starts in Gedinne and follows a route largely through the vast Ardennes forests of the province of Namur, passing through Haut-Fays. Along the way, you’ll have the chance to visit the Monument du Maquis (a memorial to 17 resistance fighters killed in 1944) and the walk ends at Graide-Station.
The two waters from Lesse
Set off on a walk themed around water and the forest from the hamlet of Lesse.The two main rivers in the region are the Our and the Lesse, which converge less than 2 km from the starting point.
Walk between the Lesse and the Our
Starting from the hamlet of Lesse, the walk begins by following the river of the same name upstream on the left bank, crosses it at the Moulin de Molhan and then heads along the right bank towards Villance.Shortly after the 4-kilometre mark, the route branches off due south towards the Pont de la Justice before reaching the centre of Maissin. On leaving Maissin, the walk heads out into the countryside before entering the forest and descending gently towards the Our, which you follow almost to its confluence with the Lesse. No difficulties apart from a bit of mud here and there.
Idyllic Ardennes from Graide
The walk starts at Graide-station in the province of Namur and winds its way through pastures, Christmas tree plantations and forests. You’ll pass by the Étangs des Tranlets, the old mill on the Ruisseau du Ruaumoulin and the Notre-Dame de Bon-Secours Chapel in Oizy, before finally ending at Carlsbourg station in the province of Luxembourg.

Along the Our
This beautiful hike will take you into the heart of the Ardennes forest to explore the whole of Our, one of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia, following the course of the river of the same name and tributary of the Lesse. Discover undergrowth made up of rocky outcrops, scree slopes and streams running alongside or crossing the paths.
To the Pont du Sanglier from Redu
A lovely walk of nearly 11 km, mostly along the banks of the Lesse and through the woods.
Start from the centre of Redu near the tavern.
There you’ll find a small beach (1) where you can have a picnic or dip your toes in the water.
The route is fairly easy, although there are a few short climbs, but nothing too difficult.
I simply crossed the Lesse at (5) about 750 m from the Pont du Sanglier (4) – the water was 30 cm deep – to follow the riverbank in the opposite direction; otherwise, you can turn around and retrace your steps to rejoin the route at the Pont du Sanglier.
And to finish off, enjoy a drink on the terrace at the tavern at the starting point.
The Lesse, the forest and the old country lane
Centred around the River Lesse and the old local road that linked Wellin to Graide, this entirely woodland walk spans the municipalities of Wellin, Daverdisse and Libin.The route alternates between sections of signposted local walks, Grande Randonnée trails, the Entre-Lesse-et-Lomme circular route and other unmarked paths, which are consequently very little used. It is likely to be on one of these latter paths that you’ll have the chance to spot the odd wild animal, such as wild boars fleeing from one of their favourite haunts.The route mainly follows footpaths and tracks, with only two sections on tarmac: one around the magnificent Daverdisse Mill, and the other on the small road linking Daverdisse to Redu.
Between Wellin and Daverdisse
In the north of the province of Luxembourg, on the border between the Ardennes and the Famenne, a hike in the Great Forest of Saint-Hubert to discover the serenity of the forest, a few historic buildings and beautiful views.
In the Great Forest of Saint-Hubert, immerse yourself among streams and woods.
Starting from the old Redu railway station, now converted into a lodge, take a walk through the Grande Forêt de Saint-Hubert, along the Ry des Glands, then the Ry de Houssi and finally along the Lesse. Immerse yourself in the forest, among conifers and deciduous trees.
A circular loop around Wellin starting from Sohier
A walk from Sohier, one of Wallonia’s most beautiful villages, to Chanly via the Wellin viewpoint and the Maria footbridge over the Lesse. The return route takes in the Croix de Jeumont and the Sourd d’Ave. Situated between the region’s two enormous quarries, this walk alternates between countryside and woodland, offering some lovely panoramic views of the area.
Circular walk starting from Sohier
A walk from Sohier, one of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia, to Chanly, via the Wellin viewpoint and the Maria footbridge over the Lesse. The return route takes you through the centre of Wellin, then south of the Fond des Vaux quarry and past the Lomprez cemetery. This walk alternates between countryside and woodland, offering some lovely views of the region, notably the Croix de Jeumont to the north and the former Resteigne quarry to the east.
In the heart of the southern Ardennes towards Naomé
The village of Naomé is located in the heart of the Southern Ardennes Nature Park, which covers nine Belgian municipalities in southern Wallonia: Bertrix, Bièvre, Bouillon, Daverdisse, Gedinne, Herbeumont, Paliseul, Vresse-sur-Semois and Wellin. This walk, which takes you through both countryside and forest, starts in Naomé.
Circular walk from Naomé via Baimont, Francs-Bois, Roda and Perlefontaine
A circular walk starting from Naomé, which can easily be completed in 2 hours. The walk starts near the church, heading towards Opont. On reaching the pond, the route follows the GR®14 and takes the path that climbs to the right of the Douaire pond. The walk then continues along the GR®14 before leaving it shortly afterwards.
A bit of history in the woods around Maissin
Maissin, a village forming part of the very new Southern Ardennes Nature Park, was the scene of a bloody battle between the German and French armies on 22 and 23 August 1914. It was the only engagement won by the French in Belgium. Starting from the Pierre Massé military cemetery, discover the sites of the old, original cemeteries, as well as La Mambore and its llamas, the Pont de la Justice, the Roche des Nutons and the Pont Marie-Thérèse.
Through mountains and valleys from Lomprez
With sections in the countryside offering magnificent panoramic views of the Famenne and Calestienne regions and beautiful forest sections alternating between deciduous and coniferous trees, this long circular walk is one of the 2025 proposals from the Wellin Tourist Office. It is part of a series comprising a large circular 50 km and four other smaller circular ones, including this one.It is worth noting that the circular route passes through Sohier, one of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia, with its pretty stone houses: don't miss the old village hall/school, the church and the castle.
Circular starting from the old communal mill in Lomprez.
This long walk, which is mostly through forest for just over half of the route, starts behind the imposing church of Lomprez with its turrets. The old village mill is nearby. While the street-facing building and its dormer window (whose pulley has disappeared) are in good condition, the rear and the old wheel are in need of restoration. There are a few difficulties on this route: see the "description" box.

From Carlsbourg to Paliseul (long version via Our)
The walk starts at Carlsbourg station and winds its way between the provinces of Namur and Luxembourg, through pastures, farmland and forests. Passing through Our, Wallonia’s most beautiful village, it ends at Paliseul station.
Baillamont Circular
An easy, peaceful walk with very few roads.
Crosses the Bois de Flèrifoi and the Bois Les Tranlets, passing not far from the hamlet of "Les Waibes" before finishing with the return through the Bois du Ro.
Circular forest from Chanly
Based on sections of Grande Randonnée trails and marked walks, in particular the new 'Par Monts et par Vaulx' circulars inaugurated in 2025 by the Wellin Tourist Office, the walk takes place mainly in magnificent deciduous forests where beech and oak trees reign supreme.
The Saint-Furcy Spring and the Roche Mouselle in a snap
This walk in the Namur Ardennes is pure bliss, alternating between countryside and forests, streams, paths and trails.The route combines two major points of interest in the region: the Saint Furcy Spring and the Roche Mouselle Cave.
Le Sourd d'Ave and La Croix de Jeumont
The route takes turns along the GR® Monts d'Ardenne trail and the Wellin circular, via Monts and Vaulx.The Sourd d'Ave is a resurgence of the Ry d'Ave located opposite the N835, between the E411 and the N94. There are better places, but there is no choice. The route is equipped with stairs and ropes, making it safe and secure. You can admire the work of the beavers there!The stone Jeumont Cross dated from the late 19th century. It fell during a storm in 1984 (remains can be seen on the site), and a wooden version was erected by the Fraternité de Tibériade in 2022. The site is part of the Natura 2000 network and the chapel at the top of the hill is listed as protected heritage in Wallonia.In addition to opening up onto rolling countryside landscapes, the trail comes quite close to two gigantic quarries, Fond des Vaulx and Les Limites. Both are worth a closer look where possible!

Circular Daffodil Walk to Edmond d’Hoffschmidt’s hermitage
Starting from the old Resteigne Quarry, set off to explore Resteigne Castle, the old watermill, the new footbridge over the Lesse, the nature reserves (pastures, juniper bushes, etc.), millions of wild daffodils (in season), the former hermitage of Edmond d’Hoffschmidt, the pretty village of Belvaux and the viewpoint overlooking the Lesse valley from the Rocher à Pic.
Walk from Resteigne to Belvaux
A delightful mix of sights to discover throughout these 8 km: some lovely viewpoints, including Rocher à Pic and the La Lesse quarry, the Ellinchamps Forest Reserve, the bread oven and the Belvaux Chapel, as well as the Herdal Resurgence on the way back.
