A short but invigorating walk. From Villémus, a charming village in the Luberon region of Manosque, you will climb up to a ridge which you will follow before descending back down to the village. Magnificent landscapes and views of all the mountain ranges in the region, the Forcalquier plain, and the Durance and Encrême valleys.
Visit and tour of the Colorado Provençal (official route)

The walk begins with a visit to the Colorado Provençal lookout trail (pedestrian rate) run by the Association du Colorado de Rustrel and continues with a tour of the Colorado via the ridges (GR®) to discover views of other ochre quarries. The walk takes in all the different colours of ochre in these old open-air quarries.
Please note: the Parking des Mille Couleurs is reserved exclusively for visitors to the two signposted trails managed by the Association du Colorado de Rustrel for a limited time of around 3 hours. If you wish to hike the Tour du Colorado, you must park in the village and pay only the pedestrian entrance fee for the Belvederes trail.
The Colorado Provençal de Rustrel (official route)

The hike reveals all the nuances of ochre color in these ancient open-air quarries. You'll have to pay for parking lot.
Mourre Nègre circuit via the north

This circuit leads to the top of Mourre Nègre, the highest point in the Luberon (1,115 metres), from the north, via a series of detours. The climb is gradual. Beautiful view from the summit. The descent also offers beautiful panoramic views but requires good footwear on a stony path.
The Mourre Nègre loop, passing by the old Saint-Pierre castle

The Mourre Nègre, the highest point in the Luberon mountain range, offers breathtaking views from its crest, stretching from the Étang de Berre to the Southern Alps and including the Sainte-Victoire and Mont Ventoux peaks.
On the way down, passing through the Vallon du Roumi, you can get close to the ruins (currently being restored) of the ancient Château Saint-Pierre and the adjoining chapel of the same name.

The Petarelle valley, the ridge and the Rocher gorge

This walk begins with a refreshing stroll along the Aiguebrun, then climbs up to the ridge of the massif via the Petarelle valley. The descent is along a path that passes through the Rocher gorge. The landscapes are splendid and peaceful.
Throughout this hike, you will encounter numerous vestiges of a time when this mountain range was a place of life and resources. Best done in spring or autumn.

A short, varied hike that alternates between beautiful views, tracks through the heath and the human-scale escarpments of the Luberon.
Le Mourre Nègre via Cucuron

This long circuit allows you to discover two of the most beautiful valleys on the southern flank, the ridges and the highest point of the Grand Luberon, as well as the picturesque villages of Vaugines and Cucuron.
The Cabanons de Mane

If you like Bories, you'll see them in the distance at the start, then up close, and you can even go inside some of them. On your way back, before you get to the village, you'll walk up a superb calade (cobbled) street, and there's a little detour to see the Château de Mane.
The Crête du Grand Luberon ridge from Vaugines

This is one of my favourite hikes in the Grand Luberon, and you can easily vary the route along the summit. This hike takes you to the summit through several valleys, offering superb views in places. The descent on the oldGR®®9trail is just as interesting for its many views. (TheGR®®9route has now changed slightly.)

An easy loop starting from Corbières, with the Torrent de Corbières gorges and the Trou du Loup. The start of the walk offers a glimpse of the gorge on a gently ascending path, with very cool spots and a wide variety of flora. The Ravin de Bernadine has the same atmosphere but with a torrent that is often dry. The climb to La Bosse and the descent on the way back take you through scrubland typical of the Luberon. A pleasant way to discover the hills and scrubland of the Luberon.
