Start from the top of Cabrières, at the small car park next to a recent housing development.
NB: motor vehicles are not permitted on the tracks in the Luberon massif, so you will need to park well in advance.
(S/E) Take the track heading north-west then north and follow theGR®92. After going around a hill at an altitude of 632m, ignore a turn-off on the left and continue to the Carrefour du Couleton.
(1) Turn left onto the path that climbs towards Mourre Nègre (signposted). The climb is steady, starting on a path that follows ravines and gradually becomes rocky in the undergrowth. After several hairpin bends, you will reach Basse de Cabrières (cairn and signposts, nice view to the north and south).
(2) Turn left onto the wide path parallel to the DFCI track. Return to the track and continue west-southwest to a crossroads.
(3) Turn left and climb gently up to the Mourre Nègre antennas (panoramic view).
(4) The descent follows exactly the same route back to the car park (S/E).
