Departure from the village of Viens. Parking spaces in the village, Allée des Platanes, easier to find out of season. Before departure or on your return, take a tour of the village, which has its own charm with its narrow streets.
(S/E) Take the D33 (Route de Banon) which passes in front of the castle.
(1) On the right-hand side of the road, there is a beautiful view of the Luberon geological reserve. On the other side of the road, opposite, theGR®97climbs uphill. This is a beautiful little path that quickly returns to the contour line and runs along the edge of the cliff. The vegetation removes any impression of emptiness and provides welcome shade in hot weather.
(2) The first fork offers the option of heading directly to the hamlet of Saint-Laurent. Follow theGR® which descends to the right. Turn left and head for the pass.
(3) At the Col des Quatre Chemins, rejoin the tarmac road. Take the small road furthest to the left.
(4) After 700 metres, there is another fork. Turn left, then left again to skirt the hamlet of Saint-Laurent to the north.
(5) At the end of the tarmac road, follow the wide grassy path on the right, which becomes tarmac further down. It will take you back, between lavender fields (in season) and small copses, on a gentle descent to Viens (S/E).
