The various vistas offered by the region’s sweeping panoramas provide a glimpse into why these lands have been chosen as holiday destinations throughout history. The beautiful mansions, castles and wine-growing activity leave their mark on the landscape. Between these estates, stretches of woodland run through the villages, allowing wildlife to roam freely – wildlife we hope to encounter along the way. Our rolling countryside offers panoramic views where the interplay between our valleys and villages comes to life. The spires of the churches, the façades of the beautiful mansions and the remarkable trees in the castle grounds face one another, telling the story of how people have settled on these lands. The route passes through the plateau and its castles and returns via the old railway line.

Along the way, you’ll find everything that defines the Portes de l’Entre-deux-Mers: the wooded hillsides and their topography that put our muscles to the test, the water acting as a backbone with the Pimpine and its surprising wetlands, and the sunken paths winding their way, hidden in the border between two vineyard plots. The official name of the circular route is: Lignan-de-Bordeaux–Cénac – Circular Route 2 – Portes de l’Entre-deux-Mers Community of Communes. Crossing paths with walkers and cyclists along the Lapébie trail, this circular route offers a glimpse into another era, when the railway crossed the Entre-deux-Mers region from Orléans station in Bordeaux to Sauveterre-de-Guyenne.Further reminders of the past are the quarries, which today provide a home for bats and blend seamlessly with the wooded hillsides, creating places with a unique atmosphere. Having become a source of risk, they, like the waters of the Pimpine, exemplify our changing relationship with the land. This circular route forms part of the ‘11 Bell Towers’ route organised by the Portes de l’Entre-deux-Mers Community of Communes.

Stone quarried from the local quarries shapes our landscape. It forms the foundation of the castles, as well as the old houses that cluster together to form hamlets, bearing witness to the way of life in these localities. Bouliac boasts a rich heritage. Numerous stately homes and châteaux dot the commune’s landscape, bearing witness to a rich past and an era when Bordeaux merchants made their fortunes through the commercial activity of the Port de la Lune and sought to acquire beautiful residences on the hillsides, just a few kilometres from the city. This 7.7 km circular route starts in the current village of Fargues-Saint-Hilaire, at the Sunday market square, and takes you on a tour of beautiful shaded paths. Part of the route passes through Carignan-de-Bordeaux, where you will discover an unusual place. .

The official name of the walk is: "Cambes-St Caprais-Baurech- Circular 6 - Cdc les Portes de l'Entre Deux Mers". A circular route that surprises with its diversity of landscapes, the villages it passes through and the Garonne, which you leave and then return to after a stretch through this magical combination of sunken paths and tree canopy, with veritable tunnels of greenery. This route forms part of the Circuit des Onze Clochers (Circuit of the Eleven Steeples) organised by the Portes de l’Entre-deux-Mers Community of Communes.

We offer you a lovely walk through the undergrowth and vineyards. You will pass by a pond, wine estates and the outskirts of Tresses, Pompignac and Fargues Saint-Hilaire.

A peaceful ride through the green countryside of the Gironde, with very few vineyards for a change, but woods, hay meadows and green pastures, as well as streams, marshes and esteys, thanks to its proximity to the Garonne. Please note: a large part of the walk is on roads, so caution is advised

The official name of the walk is: Tabanac-le Tourne - Circular 7 - cdc-Portes de l’Entre-deux-Mers The walk alternates between landscapes in the heart of the vineyards, stretches through wooded areas and the discovery of marshes. This circular walk will immerse you in a vibrant countryside, where, round every bend, you’ll be surprised by the sight of a quarry, a remarkable tree or a wash house.

For many years, the municipality of Pompignac has taken great care to preserve a green, wooded area around the village, which has enabled it to create a very pleasant circular walking route, in collaboration with the Communauté de Communes des Coteaux Bordelais and the Gironde Department. The path is well signposted (follow either “Ceinture Verte” or “Circular Path of Pompignac”).

The official name of the walk is: "Le Tourne-Langoiran - Circular 8 - Cdc Portes de l'Entre-deux-Mers" A 9 km route between the river and the hillsides, offering magnificent views of the colourful marshes that encircle the Garonne as you walk through the ever-present vineyards. You could easily lose yourself in the narrow streets of these two bustling villages where water always finds its way. We follow its course, imagining another story; that of villages where life revolved entirely around the river, its trade and the fishing boats.

A short, easy walk accessible to all, including young children, avoiding traffic routes as much as possible and offering several panoramic views of the Bordeaux metropolitan area. Ideal for a Sunday afternoon with the family.

This is a circular route of about 2 hours that avoids traffic as much as possible and tries to connect the various green spaces in this popular area surrounding the Saint-Jean train station and extending slightly into the commune of Bègles. There are many small squares and green spaces that are open all the time and are more or less well maintained. The route is accessible by bicycle if you take care.

This circular route allows you to discover the Garonne up close from its banks, but also from the vineyard slopes that border its floodplain. The route is not particularly difficult but has a slight incline. will take you to the banks of the Garonne and one of its small tributaries (the Grand Estey). After following a pretty, slightly sloping path, you will reach the hillsides and cool little valleys of the Entre-Deux-Mers region, with its vineyards, towering oak woods and grazing meadows. From there, you will enjoy several views of the river and its alluvial plain.

A lovely circular route that starts on the banks of the Garonne with its traditional fishing huts, then follows the Estey stream before crossing vineyards and reaching magnificent viewpoints before arriving at the medieval castle of Haut-Langoiran.

This walk through the vineyards is notable for its many wine châteaux, an ancient church with a pure Romanesque choir, and its significant production of lily of the valley. You will pass the Latour Martillac, Haut Nouchet and Cruzeau Martillac châteaux, located on the outskirts of the Bordeaux metropolitan area. Martillac, an Aquitaine village in southern Gironde, belongs to the Pessac Leognan wine region, giving its wines a prestigious appellation.

A short, flat walk with the option to turn back at any time, allowing you to explore the village of Langoiran.

A circular starting from Croignon, with five châteaux on the itinerary: Rivalan, Camarsac (Prince Noir), Grand Puch, Petit Puch and Jonquières. An itinerary that allows you to discover the rich heritage and rolling landscapes of the Entre-deux-Mers region, along small roads and paths through woods and vineyards.

This circular, less than two-hour route allows you to discover green spaces often located near churches, avoiding road traffic as much as possible. This is a rather privileged area with many small, well-maintained squares. The route is accessible by bicycle if you take care.

The aim of this circular is to connect the green spaces of more than one hectare in the south of Bordeaux. To the east of this area, near the station, you will find a majority of working-class neighbourhoods, often undergoing renovation, with green spaces that are open all the time. To the west of the circular are more affluent neighbourhoods with well-maintained green spaces that are closed at night.It is possible to shorten the circular at Rue Pelleport, almost in the middle of the circular.This route is suitable for cycling, but care should be taken around pedestrians and cars.

The aim of this two-hour urban walk is to connect the various green spaces in this area of Bordeaux while avoiding traffic as much as possible. La Bastide is a working-class neighbourhood that has long been neglected but has been undergoing rapid change in recent years. This walk allows you to discover the two faces of La Bastide: the old neighbourhood with its streets of shops and traditional Bordeaux stone houses, and the new neighbourhood with its new buildings. The walk can also be done by bicycle, but you must remain very attentive.

This is a circular close to the Garonne which aims to connect the various green spaces of La Bastide, a neighbourhood located on the right bank of the Garonne, in two hours, avoiding traffic as much as possible. La Bastide is a former working-class neighbourhood of Bordeaux that has long been neglected and is now undergoing complete renovation. You will come across buildings from the 1950s, as well as recent futuristic buildings and old Bordeaux shops. You can easily move from one era to another, and the construction work is far from complete. It is possible to do this route by bike, taking care.

In the Bordeaux metropolitan area, this original circuit combines magnificent views of the Garonne, the Chaban-Delmas and Aquitaine bridges, the Cité du Vin and, further afield, a glimpse of "old" Lormont, all in a natural setting. Please note that there are many steps (but they are in very good condition).

La Bastide is a neighbourhood located on the right bank of the Garonne, east of Bordeaux. This long-neglected working-class neighbourhood is undergoing rapid change, with the conversion of industrial wastelands, multiple real estate projects, new streets... The proposed route is likely to change quickly...The aim of this walk is to connect all the green spaces larger than one hectare in this neighbourhood, avoiding traffic as much as possible and offering the most beautiful views of Bordeaux from the quays. Two shortcuts are suggested to shorten the walk.I suggest starting the walk on the left bank quays, but it is also possible to start directly from the right bank, at Place Stalingrad, at the end of the Pont de Pierre bridge. The walk can also be done by bicycle, taking care to watch out for pedestrians.

A short circular centred on the green spaces, covering approximately one hectare and avoiding traffic as much as possible. Circular accessible to people with reduced mobility (no stairs). Some green spaces, which are accessible at all times, are not recommended at night.This route can be cycled at a gentle pace, taking care to avoid pedestrians.

Since the construction of the Chaban-Delmas Bridge, it has been possible to take a stroll along both banks of the Garonne River. Whether you prefer a brisk or leisurely walk, you will discover the most beautiful views from the Bacalan Bastide Bridge (Chaban-Delmas) and the Place de la Bourse.

As in many cities, the western sector is favoured because the air coming from the sea is supposed to be healthier. On this side of Bordeaux, there are many beautiful houses with private gardens and well-maintained public parks, which are closed at night.The route can be done by bicycle, taking care.

This walk connects some of the green spaces in northern Bordeaux. Only some, because Bordeaux stretches far to the north and it would be difficult to visit all the green spaces in a reasonable walking distance.The walk starts at Place des Quinconces, winds through the beautiful neighbourhoods brightened up by green spaces that are closed at night, and after Parc Marceau, takes you through the more working-class neighbourhoods of Grand-Parc, Chartrons and Bacalan, which are currently undergoing renovation, before returning along the Garonne.It is possible to do this walk by bicycle, taking care to watch out for cars and respect pedestrians.

This urban walk aims to connect some of the green spaces in northern Bordeaux, avoiding traffic as much as possible and taking less than two hours. As Bordeaux extends far to the north, it is impossible to visit all of its green spaces. The urban walk offers a fairly comprehensive view of Bordeaux, including middle-class neighbourhoods, working-class neighbourhoods, old neighbourhoods, renovated neighbourhoods, beautiful private gardens, and public gardens that are more or less accessible and well maintained. It is possible to do the walk by bicycle, taking care.

This is a circular route that allows you to discover the green spaces and parks of over one hectare in the west of Bordeaux. As in many cities, the western sector is favoured because the air coming from the sea is considered to be healthier. On this side of Bordeaux, green spaces often take the form of private gardens and well-maintained public parks are closed at night.This route can be completed by bicycle at a leisurely pace.

The aim of this urban walk is to spend around two hours exploring the centre of Bordeaux, focusing on the northern part of the city, with an emphasis on public and private green spaces and avoiding traffic as much as possible. This route also takes you through some beautiful parks and both affluent and working-class neighbourhoods. The route is accessible by bicycle, but care should be taken.

Circular route through the vineyards and forest south of La Brède. You will pass through the vineyards of Château La Blancherie, Château Magneau, Château Méric, Château Lassalle and Château Haut-Reys. La Brède, a Graves vineyard on the edge of the Pessac-Léognan region, is a village renowned for its good living amidst woods and vineyards.
