Vicq-sur-Nahon walks

This hike starts in Vicq-sur-Nahon and takes you to the western hills overlooking the Nahon valley. It leads you to the Château de la Moustière and then the Château de Langé. You will then follow the Nahon river to climb the eastern hills. You will take part of the Benjamin Rabier discovery trail.

A pleasant walk through fields and woods, allowing you to discover some megaliths around the village of Bagneux in the Boischaut Nord region of Indre, notably the Pierre Couverte de Bué, a Neolithic dolmen classified as a historic monument.

This walk, suggested by the Chabris-Pays de Bazelle Community of Communes, allows you to discover the surroundings of Anjouin, passing near the Pierre Levée de Bellevue, then on the Perry, near the Château de la Roche, and ending at the Boulaye and the Maisons Rouges. The landscapes are typical of the northern Boischaut region of the Indre.

Whether you are a nature lover or enjoy family outings, this route is for you. With little elevation gain, accessible to all ages, this route can be enjoyed on foot or by bike. At weekends, you will encounter many hikers.

In Chemillé-sur-Indrois, the vast lake cannot be seen at a glance. You will need to walk along it, then move away, explore the forest to discover a charterhouse, before finally returning and climbing up to get a better view. A route that will delight lovers of nature and heritage.

This pleasant walk allows you to explore the surroundings of the village of Sainte-Gemme, situated within the Brenne Regional Nature Park. It takes you through a variety of landscapes: fields and meadows, woodland and a pond.

Discover the small village of Sennevières, nestled in a valley at the edge of the Loches National Forest. A short walk through the Touraine countryside will take you to the former royal forest with its wide forest paths. You can stroll under the canopy of trees, in the shade of hundred-year-old oaks...

Leaving Saint-Hippolyte, you set off on a short loop through the countryside. After a short stretch beside the Indre, you'll wind your way through the fields to discover a number of hamlets, as well as the woods overlooking the village.

A short hike in this village in Berry, also known as the "village of the Mountain" by locals. Its undulating paths will take you up to a hilltop overlooking a corner of the Berry Champagne region, where hedges, pollarded trees and copses mingle with agricultural plots. They will also take you down into "hell", passing through "paradise" on the way, to reach the wild banks of the Cher, where you can see some elements that bear witness to the village's history, all in a very rural setting.

Start from the small village of Bourré, which was once a source of tuffeau stone for the construction of the Loire Valley châteaux. On the way back along the path, you overlook the village with a lovely view and pass by a few cave dwellings. Most of the route is through woodland, with a very easy, unchallenging route. At the start or end of the day, it is not uncommon to spot roe deer, does, foxes...

Leaving Bridoré, with its lake and impressive castle, you set off on a walk across the plateau overlooking the Indre valley. In the middle of the fields, the wide open spaces offer beautiful views of a castle in the distance or simply the green Indre valley.

This lovely walk on the edge of the Brenne Regional Nature Park takes you through a variety of landscapes typical of this region: meadows, ponds and pleasant woodland.

The Bellebouche Pond is one of the oldest, largest and most beautiful bodies of water in the Brenne Regional Nature Park. A small part is reserved for water sports, but most of it is a natural site that you can admire at your leisure with binoculars from three observatories around the pond.

Starting from Saint-Georges-sur-Cher, the walk takes you past the port, the chain ferry, the Gueule du Rio and the old wash house. It continues past the Château des Couldraies and the Moulin de Chézelles, then on to the Prieuré de la Chaise. The walk allows you to discover a few hamlets, such as Les Bruyères and La Chauverie, as well as Les Raimbaudières.

A large car park is available for cars and motorhomes at the start of this walk through the vineyards and hamlets, which will take you on a journey through the history of Saint-Georges-sur-Cher from Gallo-Roman times, through the Middle Ages, right up to the present day.

A pleasant, easy route, ideal for a stroll, a walk, a run or a mountain bike ride.

Fougères-sur-Bièvre combines exploration of its historical and architectural heritage (castle, church, wash house) with its varied landscapes, and takes pride in its rich wine-growing tradition.

The route offers a glimpse of the architectural and natural riches of the commune of Courmemin, and more broadly of the Sologne region: half-timbered houses in the village, Sologne farms, deciduous and coniferous forests, and numerous ponds.

A lovely circular route rich in numerous buildings weathered by time—houses and farms from the Sologne of yesteryear—as well as landscapes typical of this region: sheep pastures, but also marshy areas, forests, hedgerows and ponds teeming with a wide variety of wildlife.

A pleasant walk that allows you to discover the town of Luant and its surroundings, at the gateway to the Brenne Regional Nature Park.

Ah, Chenonceaux! Without a doubt my favourite château. Exploring the surrounding area is a real pleasure, with vineyards, peaceful villages and the banks of the Cher. Very peaceful, even if there are a few hills, but it's for a good cause: views that are well worth seeing and seeing again. Hybrid or mountain bikes are recommended. Lunch breaks are available in Chenonceaux, Bléré or Saint-Georges-du-Cher.

The commune of Chenonceaux, famous for its world-renowned château, has many other treasures to offer. This easy hike invites you to discover them. Please note: hikers have informed us that the Chenonceaux bridge over the Cher river is undergoing repairs until 15 June 2019. The walk as described will therefore not be possible during the first quarter of 2019. Please check before setting off.

This is a pleasant route for hiking, running or mountain biking around the Étang de Berthommiers and Étang des Deux Frères lakes in the Châteauroux Forest.

Hike in the Châteauroux State Forest, away from the main paths. The route follows almost exclusively the trails deep within the forest.

This hike starts at the Renaissance castle of Azay-le-Ferron and takes you into the heart of the Preuilly forest. It offers some unexpected points of interest: a monument dedicated to the Resistance, a pond nestled in the undergrowth and glimpses of the Haute-Touche animal park.

This is a figure-of-eight route starting from the hamlet of Le Blizon, along a wide path through the Brenne ponds. A pleasant walk, partly shaded and dotted with viewing points.

From one pond to another, around Marcilly-en-Gault, the walk can be enjoyed by the whole family in all seasons. It allows you to savour the charm of still waters where nature abounds.

From Chaumont to Candé (an ideal spot for a picnic) along the banks of the Loire and its tributary, the Beuvron. The return journey takes you along a beautiful forest path, through fields and around the Domaine de Chaumont.
