Park in the car park of the Abbey Church of Saint-Genou, behind the town hall.
(S/E) From the car park behind the town hall, walk past the church and go round it to the left. Take the street on the left, then Rue du Canal on the right for 40 m.
(1) Take the bridge on the left over the Indre canal branch, near the old mill. Follow theGR®®46to the left, towards Palluau-sur-Indre, walking alongside the canal for 100 m, then take the footbridge on the left. Follow the road to the right, reach a small square and continue straight on along the Chemin du Chaume Galle. At a bend, leave a path and a footbridge on your right. You’ll reach a T-junction.
(2) Continue along the path to the right. Pass under a gantry and, 300 m further on, turn left onto a grassy track (take care as it is not always well maintained). At the junction, turn left onto a track suitable for vehicles which leads to the small D63a departmental road.
(3) Turn right onto it, then, at the next road junction, continue carefully straight on along the D15 towards Palluau. Cross the bridge over the Indre, pass the picnic area and the Guinguette on your left, and arrive on the outskirts of Palluau. Pass the entrance sign.
(4) Turn immediately right onto Rue du Lavoir. Then pass Rue du Moulin Brûlé on your right and continue straight ahead. At Place des Anciens A.F.N., pass Rue du 8 Mai on your left and turn right onto Rue de Verdun until you reach an esplanade near the town hall.
(5) Turn left twice to take Rue du Ha Ha. Pass some steps on the left, then, 100 m further on, at the end of a slight S-bend in the street, go up the steps on the right (sign for toilets).
(6) With your back to the Tourist Office, facing the castle, and with Saint-Sulpice Church on your right, walk down Rue Haute to the left until you reach a crossroads with a cross. Then turn right onto Rue des Caves.
(7) After the cellars, at the next two junctions, continue slightly uphill to the right along an old narrow road.
(8) When you reach the Croix Jamet (under the shelter of an oak tree), carefully cross the D17 and take the grassy path on the left. Then, 100 m further on, follow the grassy path to the right. As it crosses a small wood, it becomes a hollow. At the exit, it becomes a narrow track, running through the grass. Pass a path on the left and reach another junction.
(9) Head down to the right onto a farm track. Continue straight on towards the south-east along the small road you’ve joined to reach La Bourbonnerie, then the private château of La Joubardière.
(10) Then, carefully, cross the D15 to pass through the hamlets of La Joubardière and Haute and Basse Buissonnière, then continue along the small road.
(11) At the crossroads, turn left onto the D15E, cross over the Roulin stream and then, 200 m further on, just before another crossroads, take the wide track on the right. Cross the ford of the Ruisseau de la Cité and stay on the main track until you reach the D63.
(12) Follow it carefully to the right, crossing the bridge over the Indre, then the one spanning the Canal du Moulin. Turn right into Rue du Canal, then, 50 m further on, take the footbridge on the right. Follow the canal to the bridge at the old mill.
(1) Cross it again, turn right, then left, and go behind the church to reach the First World War war memorial, then the car park (S/E).
