Rognon walks

A day-long walk offering the chance to see various types of karst sinkholes, visit Montby Castle and walk through fields of daffodils if the walk takes place in early March.

A route allowing you to discover several well-known and lesser-known sights in the region: Trou du Seri, Château and Lavoir de Gondenans les Moulins, Village of Nans, Châteaux de Bournel, La Gloriette, the cliff and château of Nans, the Grotte de la Pucelle and the Roche de Romain.

This route takes you to the Cendrey wind turbines and the old iron mines of Rougemontot, ending at an ancient Roman road.

La Goutte d'Eau Trail: a family-friendly route to explore the character town of Montbozon and the nearby village of Thiénans, with a magnificent viewpoint over the Ognon Valley. Trail listed in the PDIPR. Places to visit: the fortified house of Montbozon (also known as the Maison Bouday), and the Cygne fountain, a listed Historic Monument.

La Goutte d’Eau Trail: a family-friendly route to explore the ‘cité de caractère’ of Montbozon and the neighbouring village of Thiénans, with a magnificent viewpoint over the Ognon Valley. The trail is listed in the PDIPR.

Hike in the commune of Rougemont, a small town of character.

Climb the 146 steps of the Tour des Bois to discover a 360° panorama from a height of 26 metres. A third of the route is through woodland and the rest follows a track through the wind farm, one of the largest in France, which is shared between Rougemont, La Tour-de-Scay and Autechaux, in the Central Doubs. On clear days, you can see 36 of the farm’s 43 wind turbines from the top of the tower.

A lovely circular route through woods and meadows with beautiful views all along the trails. Several picnic areas. In spring, a profusion of flowers (over 20 species) bloom to delight the eye.

A beautiful loop starting from the town hall in Cognières, combining nature, heritage and tranquillity. The route passes through Montagney and runs alongside the Ognon river before climbing gently towards the woods and the Saint-Hilaire chapel, then the Montaucivey chapel, offering superb unobstructed views of the countryside. Pass through Rougemont and its national necropolis. Between typical villages, forests and rural paths, ponds and rivers, this walk offers a beautiful variety of landscapes and a rich heritage to discover, in a calm and bucolic atmosphere.

Set off on a lovely circular walk through woods and fields, offering superb panoramic views. Accessible on foot, by mountain bike or on horseback, this walk with gentle gradients is suitable for everyone. The route begins at the Cognières viaduct, before passing through Bouhans, its woods and vast fields. You’ll then reach the Dampierre Forest, leading to the village of Trevey, where the pond is a lovely spot for a break. The return route takes you past the Cognières memorial stone, on the edge of the forest and fields, providing a lovely end to the walk. A varied walk, perfect for enjoying nature and recharging your batteries.

A winding path through the forest reveals the peaceful waters of the Ognon and the Linotte. The rustling of the leaves will accompany you on your walk, whilst the clearings offer peaceful resting spots. The golden reflections on the water complete this enchanting natural scene.

A pleasant circular loop through the forest, suitable for walking, mountain biking or horse riding, with no significant elevation gain. The route is unmarked; follow the map and description, as the vegetation may vary depending on the season. As this is a forest walk, please wear suitable footwear.

A short post-lunch walk for the whole family along the Doubs and on the heights of Baumes-les-Dames.

This route follows the ridges above the village and descends towards La Lavaine. Enjoy several viewpoints over the Doubs valley and a section along the banks of the Doubs via Eurovélo 6.

The “Croix de Châtard” walk is by far the number one in the top five walks in Baume-les-Dames. If you only have time for one hike during your visit, this is definitely the one to do. Accessible and of moderate difficulty, it offers superb views over Baume-les-Dames and the Doubs valley.

The hike at Baume-les-Dames undoubtedly offers the most beautiful view of the Doubs valley "canyon". From the Chassignole viewpoint, you can see the Doubs river winding its way through the valley.

A beautiful stretch of cliffs and steep forest slopes offer magnificent views of the valley along a superb ridge path, ending with a glimpse of the industrial past of Baume-les-Dames with its old pipe factory and paper mill on the riverbank.

Starting from Baume-les-Dames, discover magnificent, breathtaking views of the town, the Doubs valley and the Cusancin, before the trail joins the Doubs via the path leading to Mont Dommage. Pass by the Chassignole viewpoint and along the Sentier de la Croix and the Roche de Châtard. You’ll also discover unique geological features of limestone massifs, such as the Bléfond potholes.

This hike offers beautiful panoramic views of the Doubs river loops. The route passes through the picturesque site of the Cuves de Bléfond.

The village has one of the oldest names in our county: Bois de la Fontaine au Loup(Wood of the Wolf's Fountain). So, let's take a walk in the woods while the wolf is away, exploring the magnificent ridge line of Mont Dommage and Chassignole and their views over the Doubs valley, returning via the Val de Bléfond, forgotten by the world with its vats and waterfalls.

The Galerios: dive into a secret world beneath Dampierre! Did you know that a race of little elves lives beneath our feet, in mysterious tunnels carved out by water? The Galerios, mischievous and brave, brave the floods and set off on adventures to protect their underground kingdom…Take your children along the trail and discover together this fantastical people, their secret hideouts, their treasures and their amazing exploits. A walk full of mystery and adventure that will delight the whole family!

Starting from Silley-Bléfond, this loop combines forest trails, rocky ledges and viewpoints over the Doubs valley. You will discover Mont Dommage, the Chassignole viewpoint and enjoy magnificent views of Baume-les-Dames, the Roches du Quin and the Roche du Rechevet. A varied and panoramic hike, with a few sections requiring caution.

Welcome to Dampierre-sur-Linotte, on the first marked trail route in Haute-Saône. This 14 km route is mainly through woodland and features a few good, leg-busting climbs. Enjoy the walk.
