Car park opposite the river stop, Quai du Canal.
(S/E) Follow the road running alongside the canal, bypassing the campsite, the Jardins d’Asclépios care home and the Domaine d’Aucroix. Turn left past an unidentified building, then take the signposted path which climbs into the forest and joins the D112 further up. Follow it to the right for 100 m.
(1) At the junction, take the marked path that climbs to the right, up to Mont Dommage.
(2) Continue straight on along the top of the cliffs. Turn left at thefirst junction of marked paths and reach a fork.
(3) Head right to reach the Chassignole viewpoint.
(4) Retrace your steps to the previous fork.
(3) Turn right, then sharp left at the next junction, and follow the signs for Silley-Bléfond. When you reach the road leading to the village, turn right.
(5) At the junction of Rue des Jonquilles, Rue de la Corvée and Rue des Fontaines, turn left and continue to the second junction.
(6) Turn left onto the D364 and continue to the D112 crossroad and a path opposite.
(7) Cross the D112, follow this track downwards – it becomes a path further down and leads to the buildings at Bléfond, which you should go round.
(8) Explore the old mill, the Bléfond chapel and the nearby spring, then retrace your steps and follow the banks of the Audeux, then the Sesserant, keeping them on your right without crossing them. Walk the entire length of the meadow to the end of the valley, then continue along the somewhat narrow path through the forest to an unsecured outcrop overlooking the Bléfond potholes.
(9) Turn back and return to the meadow, following its right-hand edge.
(10) Head up into the forest via a barely visible path on the right until you reach a well-marked track, which you should follow to the D112.
(11) Follow this to the right until you reach the crossroads you passed on the way out.
(1) Turn right onto the white track leading to the car park and continue for just over 100 m.
(12) Leave the track by taking the signposted path that climbs to the left, towards Croix de Châtard. Pay attention to the signposting on the ground as the route no longer corresponds to that shown on the map.
(13) At Croix de Châtard, continue straight on, pass La Roche de Châtard and take the steep descent leading to the D50.
(14) Take great care when crossing this busy road at a blind bend. Cross the bridge over the Cusancin and turn left immediately afterwards. Pass the former Robbe pipe factory, then turn left onto the cycle path.
(15) Cross the Pont des Pipes and continue straight on along the cycle path on the left bank of the Doubs and the canal, pass under the road bridge leading to the centre of Baume-les-Dames and continue straight on to the river stop car park (S/E).
