Park in the car park on Place Jouffroy d'Abbans in Baume-les-Dames, opposite the supermarket.
(S/E) Head towards the leisure area to reach the red footbridge over the Doubs.
(1) Cross the footbridge and turn left to continue on the EV6 towards Montbéliard. Pass in front of the old factory and follow the Cusancin river to reach the Route de Lomont at Pont des Pipes.
(2) Walk along the edge of this road (D19e) which climbs to the right, then take the fairly steep path on the left. Climb up to the statue of the Virgin Mary.
(3) Turn left at the hairpin bend and take the path, then the fairly steep trail towards the Fente de Babre, following the red and white markings ofthe GR®59. Continue to the Sentier des Crêtes crossroads.
(4) Turn left, following the signs for Fente de Babre, to quickly reach the Fente de Babre viewpoint over the Doubs Valley.
(5) Follow the ridges and further on you will reach a new viewpoint.
(6) Continue along theGR® to reach the viewpoint on the north side, which overlooks Grange Ravey.
(7) Leave theGR® here and take the path on the right to reach a crossroads of paths almost at the edge of the Bois de Babre.
(8) Continue downhill along the woods to reach the Sentier des Crêtes crossroads you passed on the way up.
(4) Take theGR®59on the left and, in the opposite direction to the outward journey, return to the Jouffroy d'Abbans car park (S/E).
