Quinsac (Gironde) walks

Our rolling countryside offers panoramic views where the interplay between our valleys and villages comes to life. The spires of the churches, the façades of the beautiful mansions and the remarkable trees in the castle parks face one another, telling the story of how people have settled on these lands. Circular No. 3 of the Portes de l’Entre-Mers Community of Communes.

The various vistas offered by the region’s sweeping panoramas provide a glimpse into why these lands have been chosen as holiday destinations throughout history. The beautiful mansions, castles and wine-growing activity leave their mark on the landscape. Between these estates, stretches of woodland run through the villages, allowing wildlife to roam freely – wildlife we hope to encounter along the way. The route passes through the plateau and its castles and returns via the old railway line.

Along the way, you will find everything that characterises the Portes de l'Entre-deux-Mers: wooded hillsides and their topography that stretch our muscles, water as the backbone with the Pimpine and its surprising wetlands, and sunken paths hidden between two vineyards. This circular is part of the 11 bell towers route of the Portes de l'Entre-deux-Mers Community of Communes.

Stone quarried from the local quarries shapes our landscape. It forms the foundation of the castles, as well as the old houses that cluster together to form hamlets, bearing witness to the way of life in these localities. A peaceful ride through the green countryside of the Gironde, with very few vineyards for a change, but woods, hay meadows and green pastures, as well as streams, marshes and esteys, thanks to its proximity to the Garonne. Please note: a large part of the walk is on roads, so caution is advised

Bouliac has a rich heritage. Numerous noble houses and châteaux dot the commune, bearing witness to a rich past and a time when Bordeaux merchants made their fortunes thanks to the commercial activity of the Port de la Lune and sought to acquire beautiful residences on the hillsides just a few kilometres from the big city. This walk through the vineyards is notable for its many wine châteaux, an ancient church with a pure Romanesque choir, and its significant production of lily of the valley. You will pass the Latour Martillac, Haut Nouchet and Cruzeau Martillac châteaux, located on the outskirts of the Bordeaux metropolitan area. Martillac, an Aquitaine village in southern Gironde, belongs to the Pessac Leognan wine region, giving its wines a prestigious appellation.

This 7.7 km circular route starts in the current village of Fargues-Saint-Hilaire, at the Sunday market square, and takes you on a tour of beautiful shaded paths. Part of the route passes through Carignan-de-Bordeaux, where you will discover an unusual place. .

We offer you a lovely walk through the undergrowth and vineyards. You will pass by a pond, wine estates and the outskirts of Tresses, Pompignac and Fargues Saint-Hilaire.

A circular through the Graves vineyards, passing by châteaux such as La Louvière, Carbonnieux, Le Thill, Le Pape and several others.

This circular route allows you to discover the Garonne up close from its banks, but also from the vineyard slopes that border its floodplain. The route is not particularly difficult but has a slight incline. will take you to the banks of the Garonne and one of its small tributaries (the Grand Estey). After following a pretty, slightly sloping path, you will reach the hillsides and cool little valleys of the Entre-Deux-Mers region, with its vineyards, towering oak woods and grazing meadows. From there, you will enjoy several views of the river and its alluvial plain.

A lovely circular route that starts on the banks of the Garonne with its traditional fishing huts, then follows the Estey stream before crossing vineyards and reaching magnificent viewpoints before arriving at the medieval castle of Haut-Langoiran.

The aim of this circular is to connect the green spaces of more than one hectare in the south of Bordeaux. To the east of this area, near the station, you will find a majority of working-class neighbourhoods, often undergoing renovation, with green spaces that are open all the time. To the west of the circular are more affluent neighbourhoods with well-maintained green spaces that are closed at night.It is possible to shorten the circular at Rue Pelleport, almost in the middle of the circular.This route is suitable for cycling, but care should be taken around pedestrians and cars.

The aim of this two-hour urban walk is to connect the various green spaces in this area of Bordeaux while avoiding traffic as much as possible. La Bastide is a working-class neighbourhood that has long been neglected but has been undergoing rapid change in recent years. This walk allows you to discover the two faces of La Bastide: the old neighbourhood with its streets of shops and traditional Bordeaux stone houses, and the new neighbourhood with its new buildings. The walk can also be done by bicycle, but you must remain very attentive.

This is a circular close to the Garonne which aims to connect the various green spaces of La Bastide, a neighbourhood located on the right bank of the Garonne, in two hours, avoiding traffic as much as possible. La Bastide is a former working-class neighbourhood of Bordeaux that has long been neglected and is now undergoing complete renovation. You will come across buildings from the 1950s, as well as recent futuristic buildings and old Bordeaux shops. You can easily move from one era to another, and the construction work is far from complete. It is possible to do this route by bike, taking care.

La Bastide is a neighbourhood located on the right bank of the Garonne, east of Bordeaux. This long-neglected working-class neighbourhood is undergoing rapid change, with the conversion of industrial wastelands, multiple real estate projects, new streets... The proposed route is likely to change quickly...The aim of this walk is to connect all the green spaces larger than one hectare in this neighbourhood, avoiding traffic as much as possible and offering the most beautiful views of Bordeaux from the quays. Two shortcuts are suggested to shorten the walk.I suggest starting the walk on the left bank quays, but it is also possible to start directly from the right bank, at Place Stalingrad, at the end of the Pont de Pierre bridge. The walk can also be done by bicycle, taking care to watch out for pedestrians.

The aim of this urban walk is to spend around two hours exploring the centre of Bordeaux, focusing on the northern part of the city, with an emphasis on public and private green spaces and avoiding traffic as much as possible. This route also takes you through some beautiful parks and both affluent and working-class neighbourhoods. The route is accessible by bicycle, but care should be taken.
