Short circular of western Bordeaux via green spaces

This is a circular route that allows you to discover the green spaces of western Bordeaux, a privileged area. As in many cities, the air in the west, coming from the sea, is supposed to be healthier. This area has many quiet, shaded streets and well-maintained parks and squares that are closed at night. The route can be done by bicycle, taking care.

Worth a visit

(1) Alternative: Chartreuse Cemetery - Cenotaph of the painter Goya, who died in Bordeaux in 1828 - take Allée Saint-Bruno to the junction with Allée Jean Burguet - 500 m round trip. Opposite is the pretty, rather traditionalist Saint-Bruno Church, which houses a painting by Philippe de Champaigne and two sculptures by Bernini.

(2) Rue Georges Mandel is unique in that it offers views of the Cité Administrative, Bordeaux's two twin towers, on one side and the venerable Saint-Sernin Basilica on the other. Both are worth visiting: the Cité Administrative offers a beautiful view of the city, while the Saint-Sernin Basilica is renowned for its crypt...

(7) Alternative: At the end of Avenue du Parc de Lescure, you will find the Charles Perrens Hospital, which is home to two remarkable trees, two Judas trees over 250 years old located in a courtyard on Allée du Château.
