Meurthe (rivière) walks

This hike takes you to the Hautes Chaumes in the Tanet-Gazon du Faing Nature Reserve, starting on the Vosges side via the Ruhlock trail along a stream and returning via the Rudlin waterfall.There are beautiful views from the ridges over Lac Blanc and Lac des Truites or Lac du Forlet.

A beautiful snowshoe hike from the Col de la Schlucht.

Starting point at the Col de la Schlucht car park.This is a very strenuous hike. Good equipment and physical condition are recommended!

This easy walk will take you to a Romanesque church rebuilt in 1870, featuring a tower and a triple nave. You can also discover a draisine that could pull small wagons, after crossing the sensitive natural area of Le Plain. This protected area is rich in flora and fauna.

Bouxières-aux-Dames, from the top of its hill, overlooks the A31 motorway.Rich in surprising and bucolic listed sites, come and discover the small heritage of this commune, which recalls the life and beliefs of our ancestors.Just 15 km north of Nancy, this area is well worth exploring.The banks of the Étang de Mérrey and the lawn offer peace and greenery, perfect for a short break. A beautiful short hike on mostly single-track trails in the forest. Beautiful views.

A pleasant walk around Fléville and Laneuveville in front of Nancy, combining the countryside with panoramic views of the surrounding towns, and returning along the Marne-Rhine Canal with its junctions, locks and birds.

A lovely walk from the 13th-century Saint-Jean Chapel to the low-altitude peat bogs.

Short walk with a steep climb at the start and a beautiful view from the Roche de Saint-Blaise. The finish isn't great, as it's in a housing estate, but I must admit I did this walk with my young dog Marcus to prepare him for future hikes with me.

On the Moselle circular route, along the Meurthe between Jarville-la-Malgrange and Malzéville. A hike mainly on cycle paths or specially designed trails to discover the meanders of the tranquil Meurthe with its birds, passing by the Old Mills of Nancy and the historic monument "La Douera" in Malzéville.

This walk will take you through three villages around the Meurthe and Mortagne rivers.

By making a loop from the Étang des Dames, you can quickly reach the Rudlin Waterfall. This is a pretty waterfall about ten metres high, accessible via a path through the woods from the bottom of the valley.

An urban walk along a cycle path starting from the Bois de Badonfosse. Starting from Saulxures-lès-Nancy, heading to the Chartreuse de Bosserville via the Bois de Badonfosse, continuing towards the Marne-Rhine Canal at Laneuveville, just outside Nancy, crossing the Meurthe via the Bosserville footbridge. The walk continues along the canal towards the port of Nancy, passing through Jarville-la-Malgrange and the outskirts of Nancy. Junction with the Meurthe at Saint-Max, followed by a walk along the Meurthe. Return via Avenue Eugène Pottier and Rue Salvador Allende.

This route invites you to discover the Montée des Schlitteurs, as it is offered to sports enthusiasts every Christmas Eve. It will take you to Roche du Sapin Sec, then to other beautiful rocks with magnificent views, before beginning the descent to Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, its cathedral and the banks of the Meurthe.

With the Jubilee Year of Hope, since November 2024, our Catholic Church in the Vosges has developed a proposal: "Saprée Vadrouille, travel journal for paths of hope", with three issues per year focusing on liturgical times and the saints of the Vosges.Several itineraries are proposed in the Vosges as local pilgrimages and paths of hope. This is an opportunity to rediscover our region and our local saints throughout the Vosges department. Each itinerary can be done independently of the others, at any time of year.
