Around Baccarat

Start from the large car park on Place du Général Leclerc.

(S/E) Facing the River Meurthe, head for the footbridge on the right and cross it.

(1) On the other side, turn left into Rue du Port, then follow the River Meurthe along Rue de la Grande Carre.

(2) At the T-junction, continue left along the same street, then onto a path that leads away from the river to go round the pond. This leads to the junction with Rue de la Drague.

(3) Follow this street to the right until you reach the T-junction.

(4) Turn left onto Rue Sainte-Catherine.

(5) Turn right onto Route de Merviller, then immediately right onto Rue du^20e Bataillon; continue straight on along the railway line, ignoring the streets on the left, until you reach the junction with Rue de la Liberté.

(6) Go up this street on the left, marked with a Blue Diamond.

(7) Turn right just before crossing the motorway, then carry on straight ahead alongside the motorway for about 1 km.

(8) Turn right down Rue des Bingottes, then carry on straight ahead, crossing the railway line to reach the banks of the Meurthe.

(9) Take the dirt track on the right, then head towards the footbridge and cross the Meurthe. Carry on straight ahead, crossing the park and following the path alongside the campsite. You’ll come out onto Avenue de la Chapelle (D158).

(10) Turn right and then immediately left. Turn left onto Rue du Moulin Denoeuvre, then veer slightly to the right onto Rue des Vergers and walk for about sixty metres.

(11) Turn left and head up towards Rue des Trois Fontaines. Carry on straight ahead at the junction.

(12) At the Fork in the road, carry on straight ahead along Rue des Trois Fontaines, then take Chemin de Saint-Christophe, running alongside a pond on your left. Join Rue de Menil and follow it to the right for about fifty metres.

(13) Head up Rue des Gadines, on the left, until you reach the junction with Route de Badménil (D22), which you follow to the left for about 510 metres.

(14) Take the dirt track, Chemin de Sondrot, on the right and carry on straight ahead to reach the ponds on the banks of the Meurthe.

(15) Continue to the right along Chemin des Arrosants until you reach the sewage treatment plant.

(16) Take the dirt track on the left and follow it straight on, soon running alongside the River Meurthe. At the end, cross through the park behind the town hall to return to the car park (S/E).
