Refine your search for walks in Les Angles (Pyrénées-Orientales)
Puig Carlit

A classic in the Eastern Pyrenees, this route takes you to the highest point in the department (2,921 metres), passing by more than a dozen small mountain lakes.
From Les Bouillouses to Lac d'Aude
A wild route to the source of the Aude (or Auda) river, starting from the iconic Lac des Bouillouses. On the agenda: breathtaking views of the Carlit and even the Canigó, streams to cross, pine forests, wide open spaces and, of course, lakes. Please note that access to Les Bouillouses is restricted (check with the departmental council or the Pyrénées Catalanes tourist office).
The Carlit ponds
A wonderful, refreshing getaway, accessible to all, in the heart of unspoilt wilderness at the foot of the "roof" of the Pyrénées-Orientales. An ideal route for immersing yourself in the beauty of the high-altitude landscapes around the listed site of Les Bouillouses. A refreshing hike that I recommend doing at dawn.
⚠️ Restricted access: see practical information.
Le Cambre d'Aze
A challenging climb leading to one of the most beautiful panoramas in the Cerdagne region of the Eastern Pyrenees. Please note: the hike is not signposted but the path is well marked (you should still have a basic sense of direction).
The Carança Gorges in two days
Nestled in the heart of the Eastern Pyrenees, the Carançà Gorges offer an unforgettable adventure for hiking enthusiasts. This two-day route will take you through spectacular landscapes, suspended footbridges over the rushing torrent, vertiginous cornices and dense forests. On the first day, you will climb up the gorge to the Ras de la Carança refuge, before continuing on to the Estany de Carançà for a high-altitude bivouac. The next day, you will descend via a loop route through the heights, offering breathtaking views of the valley. A total immersion in unspoilt wilderness awaits you.
Font Viva lake

The village of Portè is a well-known holiday destination in the Alta Cerdanya. Many routes are available in its surroundings, hiking the mountains or connecting the nearby lakes. This is probably the most classical one, visiting the Font Viva lake, under the shadows of the Carlit peak (2921 m.). There, you may find many water sources and falls, pines and flowers, wild and domestic animals.
Puig de Coma d'Or loop from L'Hospitalet-près-l'Andorre

Water path in Bolvir

Classic walking roundtrip through the sorroundings of Bolvir, a village in Baixa Cerdanya, Catalonia.
From Collada de Roques Blanques to Pla Guillem via the ridges

Most of the walk is out in the open, with some very beautiful scenery. First, a steep climb to Puig de Collada Verda (marker 2403) and a geodesic marker. This is followed by a route along the ridge and a passage to Collada del Vents. Then watch out for the rocky Cingle dels Pelegrins, where there is no fence or protection. Keep away from them by following the path marked on the ground. A large cairn marks the end of the ridge. A return trip to Pla Guillem (signpost) allows you to enjoy the scenery.
Classified as difficult due to the length and number of ascents and descents throughout the hike and a dangerous zone (15) at (17).
Loop of Coll de Siern and Cabane de l'Ullat from La Preste

This hike requires a good sense of direction. There are numerous forks in the path and the markings are sparse or old. The route from (6) to (7) is not easy due to numerous fallen trees on the path. The GPX track is therefore necessary to confirm your position. Mostly shaded, this hike can be considered in summer, except in very hot weather. You can avoid following the trail between (6) and (7) by taking the track, then following the yellow and white markings on the left for 100 m until you reach (7).If necessary, two escape routes (7) and (10) allow you to quickly return to La Preste.
Elevation gain is close to 900 m. Allow 6 hours including breaks.
Loop of the Ullat huts and the Refuge des Conques from La Preste

A very pretty loop, well signposted and mostly shaded. Can be done in either direction. In the direction described, a break for lunch can be taken at the Refuge des Conques. After the footbridge (2), the climb is steady and continues through a magnificent beech forest. Water supply (7) at the edge of the forest, just before the huts. The passage through the Tech can be tricky, depending on the season. Then cross another equally pretty beech forest. From Coll Baix (12), you can head straight onto the GRP® and join the Roca Rodona fork. Shorter version of La Preste - Jasse de l'Ullat - Las Conques - Collada de la Solana
Appy Pond

A short, pleasant half-day hike in spring to the Étang d'Appy and its cirque.
The Roc Paradet from Prugnanes

A hike from a pretty little village on the Sentier Cathare GR®367, the GR®36, and the GRP® Tour des Fenouillèdes.A sense of direction is required. The reward comes at the summit, with its 360° panorama. On the way back, a visit to a large and beautiful cave is very interesting.
