This route combines history with nature: much of the walk follows the River Isle.
Also worth visiting: the Coly forges, a testament to a major industrial and steel-making industry, and the Monument de la Plaine, a historic site from the Second World War.
Gentle hiking in Montpon-Ménestérol
This route takes you along the Isle river, using the footpath on the Pont de Ménesplet, Marcillac and Vauclaire bridges, passing by the Chandos leisure centre. The footpath is designed to provide continuous pedestrian access along a stream or river. This footpath, which follows the old towpath, allows you to immerse yourself in protected natural surroundings.
La Guirandolle loop in Eygurande-Gardedeuilh
A trail in the heart of the Double Forest that winds through woods and paths, crossed here and there by a small stream. Ponds will appear as you walk along. A very shaded trail, ideal for families as there is little road.

The Vauclaire circular route allows you to discover this place steeped in history. Largely set in woodland, it is a very pleasant walk , but be careful: a few short sections are quite technical. It offers lovely views of the Chartreuse.

Circular walk around Lake Gurson from Montpeyroux
A walk starting from the village of Montpeyroux towards Lake Gurson. A lakeside stroll that’s perfect for unwinding. The town of Saint-Aigulin offers a very peaceful and pleasant hiking trail through the forest and countryside.
Known as the ‘Paths of the European Pond Turtle’, this route allows you to explore the habitat of this iconic species and discover its natural environment along a trail dotted with ponds. Numerous information boards are provided throughout the route to help you learn more about the local flora and fauna.

A lovely country walk through unspoilt countryside. Along the way, you will discover the Étangs de la Double ponds, which provide a wild and unspoilt refuge for animals. Take a break at the Cistercian Abbey of Notre-Dame de Bonne Espérance and enjoy the famous "Trappe Échourgnac" cheese.
