La Seyne-sur-Mer walks
Tour of the southern side of the Saint-Mandrier peninsula
To fully enjoy this short hike, it is advisable to start from the Toulon pier and cross the beautiful harbour on board a Mistral boat. The hike itself allows you to discover the south coast and the beautiful panoramas of the Saint Mandrier-sur-Mer peninsula.
Beaches and Fabrégas estate from La Seyne
From the unspoilt coves of La Seyne-sur-Mer to the Plan d'Aub promontory via the Janas forest, this is the perfect place to fill your lungs with sea air, oxygen and sunshine, with a varied but never tiring walk that is suitable for everyone.
Discovering the Saint-Mandrier peninsula
A beautiful walk around the Saint-Mandrier peninsula. The coastal path takes you from the Pointe de Marégau to the beaches of La Coudoulière and Cavalas. Then discover the picturesque little port of Saint-Mandrier. The route ends with a return trip through the countryside. Some urban sections.
Fitness trail in the Janas Forest
The 400-hectare Janas Forest is a natural area with numerous trails that many people enjoy. I suggest a brisk half-day route to keep you in shape. The route is mainly through the woods with a few cardio sections. Everything you could want!
The Janas via Notre-Dame du Mai
This walk takes you through varied landscapes: undergrowth, ridges, cliffs overlooking the sea, and two hill tops with 360° views of the coast and the mountains. For the more adventurous, an optional athletic route takes you down to the foot of Cap Sicié and the sea.
Les Arrosants, the feudal castle, Hugueneuve in Ollioules
A short urban hike can be enjoyable, especially when the town is called Ollioules. Built in an amphitheatre at the exit of its gorges and spread out across its fertile plain, irrigated by a network that has been skilfully managed since medieval times, Ollioules has a rich heritage that is as varied as it is lovingly preserved. After the relaxing stretch of irrigation channels, the climb may seem arduous, but you will be rewarded by the panoramic views that gradually unfold before you.
The Fort and some old neighbourhoods in Six-Fours les Plages
The town of Six-Fours les Plages is actually made up of a large number of hamlets, each bearing the name of an old family. A single walk, however long, is not enough to cover them all. Here we will see only a few of them, as well as the famous Fort de Six-Fours, located on the site of the old hilltop village that has now disappeared.
Baou des 4 Auros
A hike in the outskirts of Toulon where you get a 360° view of the amazing countryside. A big meeting place for spies who monitor Toulon harbour.
On the heights of Ollioules from Châteauvallon
This walk offers magnificent views of Toulon harbour and the hinterland.
Baou Quatre Ouro via the Vallons des Bonnes Herbes and Vallons des Bagnards
A lovely, challenging loop along goat paths to the heights of the Baou de Quatre Ouro massif and Cap Gros.
Go through two steep valleys.
Return via the southern ridge of Baou and the Madema breach, partially descending to the cliff path, then the ups and downs of Hautes Pavègnes and finally the old quarry and the old Bonnes Herbes shooting range.
Notre-Dame du Mai
Short walk to reach the summit of Notre-Dame du Mai facing the Mediterranean. The 360° view is one of the most beautiful on the French Riviera. Best done early in the morning or in the evening at sunset to see the amber colours that the sun casts on the surrounding mountains, or in the middle of the day when the weather is very nice to see the azure sky and sea.
Unforgettable photos and memories!
Baou de Quatre Ouro (576 m) and Croupatier via the caves path
This active route will take you through the Croupatier to the Baou de Quatre Ouro, one of the four "Toulonais brothers". Paths and ledges where you have to use your hands, passages with ropes, discover the main caves of the massif, where the famous caves of the Château du Diable make the route more interesting.
The telegraph and the oppidum of La Courtine above Ollioules
Climb above Ollioules and see the witnesses to the country's history: a Celtic-Ligurian oppidum, a medieval castle, a Chappe telegraph, cadastral markers and a water tower. This is what I offer you over a few kilometres on this peaceful walk, which does have a fairly steep incline.
Mont Faron from the north-facing slope to the south-facing slope via the north face and the western ridges.
The views of the coastline from Faron are always magnificent. What is less well known is the Toulon hinterland seen from the north-facing slope. This walk combines the two on old paths that have been restored for the occasion, with a beautiful climb up the north face to reach the summit. Excellent physical condition and good balance are required for this steep climb with some scree.
The reward is at the summit.
Le Faron
One of the most beautiful hikes in the Var.This hike climbs Mont Faron via wide tracks and offers breathtaking views of the most beautiful harbour in Europe.
Loop of the Crêtes de Notre-Dame du Mai and its coastal path
A challenging walk with magnificent views and interesting historical points of interest.
Tour and ascent of Gros Cerveau Ollioules
A beautiful hike in the hills above Ollioules and Sanary, off the beaten track. Exceptional views of the coastline from La Ciotat to Porquerolles, and inland from La Cadière-d'Azur to Le Revest, the Sainte-Baume mountain range and the Ollioules gorges. The hike alternates between shaded sections in the Mediterranean scrub and sunny sections on the limestone rocks of the La Colle massif.See important notes in Practical Information.
