Park in the Forêt de Janas car park next to the bus stop.
(S/E) Walk down below the car parks to a large pine tree. Do not take the track on the left, but continue straight ahead to reach the Maison de la Pleine Nature on a promontory.
After passing a barrier, you will see a track on your left, which you should ignore. Continue straight ahead on the track in front of you. Continue on this track for about 800 metres until you reach a spot where you will see large eucalyptus trees on your left. Take the track that climbs slightly at the end with pine roots across it.
(1) Cross the D2816 to arrive opposite the Francillon track. In the bend just after, take the path that descends below.
At the end of this path, you will come to a track which you follow to your right for about ten metres. Soon, on your left, take a small path which starts off like a staircase. It is not very clear at the beginning but improves after that. You will find yourself overlooking the track.
Continue along this path through the undergrowth, ignoring the paths that climb up to your left. You will soon come to a stony path.
(2) Turn left. After walking 50 metres along this stony path, you will come to a fork.
(3) Take the left-hand path again, which climbs steeply to a new path that you will also take on your left. This will be a blue-marked path. Continue along this path, ignoring the paths that branch off to the right and left. After a slope, you will come to a track.
(4) Just before this track, take the path on your left that leads into the undergrowth. At a fork shortly afterwards, take the right-hand path. Continue until you reach a pine tree with a large orange dot marking a crossroads.
(5) Take the small path on your left, which climbs steeply through pine roots to a tarmac road (Route de la Corniche Varoise), which you will take on your left.
After a barrier, continue along this road, ignoring the road that climbs to the right towards the Notre-Dame du Mai chapel. You will reach a hairpin bend on the right on a slope.
(6) Leave the road and take the small path that descends to your left. After 30 metres, do not continue straight ahead on the O.N.F. track. Go around a fairly flat, pointed rock on the right on a path that descends.
This path descends gently to the Belle Pierre path and then to the R. Macchi track. Cross this track towards a large building, which is the Bramas well. Pass to the left of this well and you will soon come to a path. Follow it eastwards to reach the outskirts of the Peyras Battery. This path is steep and quite narrow but still passable. At the top, it leads to a track which you take to the left until you see a bench. At this point, you need to turn slightly to the right.
(7) Turn immediately left onto a path at the bottom of the Peyras Battery. This path climbs and is soon bordered on the right by a wire fence. Continue, looking to your left for a path that will soon appear.
(8) Turn left. This path descends quite steeply and then heads north-northwest. Follow it until you reach a small field and then a path overlooking the track. Continue along this path until you see a bench on your left. A sign indicates that you are at "Bau rouge".
(9) Take the half-tarmac, half-gravel track until you reach a staircase that will take you to the car park (S/E).
