The walk starts at the free car park on Saint-Asile beach in Saint-Mandrier.
(S/E) Go to the information board, where the coastal path begins (yellow markings). Walk along the seafront until you reach Avenue du Languedoc, which you follow to the right. At the end of this avenue, turn right into a cul-de-sac and then back onto a genuine footpath.
(1) Just before the climb, there are steps on the right leading down to a magnificent pebble cove, which I recommend you take the diversions (10min round trip). Climb up to the viewpoint indicator at Pointe de Marégau (beautiful panorama of the Deux Frères rocks, Cap Sicié and the Hyères islands). Walk around the Gros Bau battery and the shooting range, then along the fencing of the Renardière battery to the road and the battery gate. Turn right and continue along the battery as far as the cliffs of Pointe de la Renardière. The path is narrow and steep, so be careful not to get too close to the cliffs. Descend to reach the pebble beach at La Coudoulière.
(2) Walk along the entire beach (shower, WC with water point and supervision in season) then take the stairs before continuing along the Corniche d'Or to the small beach at Cavalas.
(3) At the end of this beach, turn left along the fence of the military zone to the route de la Renardière. Continue along the main road for around 100 metres, then turn right into Route du Sémaphore and then left into the cul-de-sac (follow the yellow signs).
(4) Leaving the yellow markings, take the path on the left down to the post office at the end of Rue Jean Aicard.
(5) At the post office, take a right-left turn to reach the port of Saint-Mandrier and the Place des Résistants (I recommend that you take a stroll to discover this beautiful port). Just after the playground, turn left onto Avenue Estienne d'Orves and continue as far as the basketball court.
(6) Leave the avenue by turning right. Go to the end of Chemin des Aubépines, ignoring the start of Chemin des Roses and Chemin des Lilas. At the end of the cul-de-sac, follow a narrow path towards the pine forest. The path leads to a forest track, which you follow to the end.
(7) At the end of the track, cross the road and go down the sports trail as far as signpost 11 (at the start, you follow the small tourist road to Saint-Mandrier).
(8) After signpost 10, do not go up to signpost 11 but continue along the path down to the pine forest on the right. Continue along the path until you reach the road. Cross the road and take Avenue de la Mer as far as Sainte-Asile beach (the road passes to the left of the playground and basketball court). You will then reach the car park on the left (S/E).
great trip
