Hauville walks
The Moulin de Pierre and the Brotonne Forest
Discover the Moulin de Pierre in Hauville, open to visitors every Sunday from 2pm to 6pm. In the village, the Church of Saint-Paër or Saint-Paterne is open to the public. A fairly pleasant route, with a little tarmac at the start and end. The route is mainly in the forest, with one fairly steep hill and two others that are much gentler.
Chemin de la Petite Houssaye
Typically Norman, La Haye-de-Routot is a charming village attached to its traditions and craftsmanship. Starting from the church, an easy route suitable for all ages reveals a varied landscape with a beautiful collection of pollarded trees intertwined with hedges and tall beech trees in the national forest, pretty bocage valleys and views of the agricultural plain.
This route is largely unmarked and shortens the yellow-marked route.
Around Jumièges Abbey between the Seine and orchards
An easy and pleasant walk, best done during cherry season or when the many fruit trees along the route are in bloom. Lovely views of the Abbey and the River Seine.
Harelle marshes and peat bogs
Located on the left bank of the Seine, Heurteauville offers an exceptional natural setting, perfect for a peaceful and immersive hike. The village nestles at the foot of the Brotonne Forest, one of the large natural massifs of the Boucles de la Seine Regional Nature Park.
Circular of Mesnil-sous-Jumièges
We begin with a stretch through the forest, crossing the golf course, then we go around the lake and take the marsh path to join the Route du Conihout and then the towpath.
Around Mesnil-sous-Jumièges
A short route with varied landscapes: the charming village of Mesnil-sous-Jumièges on the banks of the Seine, then a short detour into the forest, passing near the Manoir d'Agnès Sorel, followed by a walk along the lake opposite the leisure centre, and ending through marshes and orchards along the towpath.
In the Brotonne forest from Grand Maître to La Haye-de-Routot
This route winds its way through the Brotonne National Forest along all types of paths. Halfway along the route, in the centre of the village of La Haye-de-Routot, a sheltered picnic area provides a place to take a break between the church, thousand-year-old yew trees and eco-museums.
Les Ronds de Nagu and Les Ronds du Loup in the Brotonne National Forest
This hike in the Brotonne National Forest offered me a wonderful immersion in nature, between shady undergrowth and wide forest paths. The route passes through two iconic sites: the Rond de Nagu and the Rond du Loup, former forest crossroads steeped in history. The path winds its way between oak and beech trees, in a calm and soothing atmosphere. At Rond de Nagu, it's worth taking a break to enjoy the open setting and the silence of the forest, punctuated only by birdsong. The walk then continues towards Rond du Loup, where several paths converge, offering beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
Circular in the Brotonne forest
During this hike in the Brotonne forest, I walked along peaceful trails in the heart of unspoilt nature. Lined with majestic oak and beech trees, the paths offered a cool and soothing atmosphere. The calm was disturbed only by the singing of birds and the rustling of leaves under my feet. This accessible and rejuvenating walk was a pleasant moment of relaxation and discovery of Normandy's natural heritage.
From flowers to fruit around Jumièges Abbey
Hike in the Jumièges region, known for its many fruit tree plantations. In spring, these blossoming trees line the route, which also veers into the forest to visit a tiny chapel nestled among the trees.
The route continues through the countryside, past thatched cottages and local stone houses, passing Jumièges Abbey and a tithe barn.
You can see the Seine from both banks, but also when crossing it by ferry.
Montfort-sur-Risle Forest
This is a beautiful walk along little-used forest paths that are somewhat wild but very pleasant!
You really feel like you're in the middle of nature with a wide variety of vegetation and tree species, magnificent ferns, etc.
You'll be breathing hard as you pedal, because this route is quite challenging with some steep climbs and technical sections, but it's still accessible without too many problems...
Chemin des Longues Vallées
The pretty village of Mauny has a rich heritage with its imposing castle and numerous old houses. The forest covers half of the route and contrasts with the open agricultural plain. The Grotte du Maquis, a sandstone cross and beautiful trees also line this pleasant route.
A shorter version of the yellow marked route starting from Barneville-sur-Seine, retaining its main points of interest but removing the two sections on the fairly busy road.
La Mailleraye, between the curves of the river Seine
A circuit between forests, marshes and towpaths along the Seine. If you'd like to, don't hesitate to visit Brigitte, who collects lions and tigers (safely of course!).
Between the Seine and the forest in Duclair
The route runs alongside the Seine twice, overlooks it at another point, crosses the village and loops back through the forest. All types of terrain: 2.5 km of quiet asphalt road in three sections, forest tracks and small paths.
The banks of the Seine in Vatteville-la-Rue
This walk allows you to discover this small village and catch a glimpse of Villequier on the other side of the Seine.
Claireau forest and medieval walk
Unmarked route, rich and varied, almost exclusively on paths.
The ruins of the medieval castle and the banks of the Risle at Château la Motte provide a beautiful end to this hike, which offers a wide variety of landscapes, between the national forest and the Claireau valley, as well as elements of natural heritage (remarkable trees) and historical heritage (Château la Motte, 18th-century wash house, etc.).
