Duclair, the Trait-Maulévrier forest and the banks of the Seine

Parking and start point at the supermarket car park, Rue Ronnenberg.

(S/E) Exit the car park via the rear of the building, opposite the post office. Take the small path to the right of the post office to reach the main road, Rue du Président Coty. Cross the road, follow the Seine to the left, pass the Duclair ferry landing stage and walk for approximately 130 m. Cross the main road again and take Rue Pavée on the left. Turn into the first street on the right, Rue Bonissent, and climb the small path to the Duclair viewpoint. Then retrace your steps and take the first right to find yourself facing the Town Hall.

(1) Continue straight ahead, taking the one-way street slightly to the right, Rue du Marché, with the town hall on your left. At the T-junction, turn right and then immediately left onto Rue Louis Pasteur. Cross the bridge over the River Austreberthe and turn immediately left onto Rue Caillouel. Walk for about 70 m; opposite the house, with the bridge on your left, turn into the path on the right. At the end, head left onto Côte des Moulins until you reach the sign indicating a narrowing of the road.

(2) Turn right onto the grassy path just after the sign. Follow the path uphill until you reach the tarmac, Chemin des Graviers, and continue straight ahead. Turn left onto Chemin de Bellevue, Hameau de Claquemeure. At the T-junction, take the left-hand street and then immediately the right-hand one, Chemin des Noisettes. At the T-junction, turn left onto Chemin du Belvédère. Pass the Yainville Forest House and continue to the first car park on the right.

(3) At the crossroads, just after the car park, turn immediately right onto Chemin Rural de Bucaille. Ignore the paths branching off to the right and left, follow the GR®, passing under the high-voltage power lines. At the next Y-junction, follow the left-hand branch until you reach the GR® and blue signpost.

(4) Leave the GR®, turn left and follow this path to pass under the power lines again. At the next junction, marked by a blue signpost, continue straight ahead. At the next T-junction, continue straight ahead until the next blue signpost. Turn sharply right onto Route Forestière du Claquemeure. Head downhill to the next left-hand turn, with a wooden forest barrier on your right. Turn left for approximately 1,600 m; at the T-junction, head right downhill to the Voie Verte. Do not take the tarmac road; follow the path to the small tunnel on the right.

(5) Head right through the tunnel and continue to the T-junction, Route du Havre. Cross the road and head left until the second turn-off on the right. Turn right; once you reach the banks of the Seine, turn left for approximately 1,200 m, until the T-junction after the watchtower.

(6) Turn right, cross the road at the first pedestrian crossing. Continue to the right and turn left at the first path leading to the post office to return to the starting point. (S/E).

Please note: check the opening hours of the supermarket car park, which is enclosed by barriers at night and at weekends. If it is locked, you can park in Rue Paul Ducros; the post office car park has only 2 spaces.
