Corcieux walks

The Champ de Roches is located in the municipality of Barbey-Seroux, near the Col des Arrentès between the Neuné and Vologne valleys. This "river" of rocks stretches between conifer plantations for 400 metres long and 40 metres wide. The existence of such chaos is surprising and has given rise to numerous legends in which the presence of the Devil is never far away.Although most of this hike takes place on forest trails and paths, the relatively long but easy loop includes a few stretches of road that allow you to discover the town of Corcieux at the start and finish, as well as the charming hamlets in the surrounding area. There are beautiful, idyllic landscapes throughout this circuit.

A nice little hike starting from the Marmonfosse lodges! A short, very easy loop, ideal for a leisurely stroll. A pretty section in the forest with little elevation gain, perfect for recharging your batteries without too much effort.

Nice walk into the fields of Jussarupt, its fields and along La Vologne river.

A family walk a few kilometres from Bruyères or Gérardmer, without any great difficulty. This walk, starting from the town hall in Jussarupt, takes you through beautiful forests and the charming village.

“Les Perles de Vologne” is a wonderful site on the shaded bank of the Vologne. You will pass on Pont des Fées and the Marie-Louise islands, before climbing along the torrent in the Roitelets Gorge, to reach the Roche des Bruyères from where you can admire the town of Gerardmer and its lake. Then, at the Gilet Fountain, located in the forest, you can refresh your hands. Take a break at the Belbriette Pond before descending to Longemer Lake and the Saint Florent chapel.

A lovely hike with no particular difficulties, suitable for both summer and winter snowshoeing in a forest setting. In winter, you can warm up and enjoy a meal at the Chaumes de Balveurche inn.

Saut de la Bourrique is a waterfall in the Vosges mountains in the commune of Gérardmer. The legend associated with the name of this waterfall actually comes from a bourrique that belonged to a lord. Returning from the crusades, he was attacked by bandits, and to protect him the animal threw itself on them at the foot of the waterfall, where it perished with the miscreants. 28/05/2024: Hiking not possible at present: Sentier du saut de la bourrique closed from (1) to (2) by municipal by-law since 15 March 2024 for works. Hiking in the Kemberg massif in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, covered with fir trees and offering two superb viewpoints: La Roche du Kiosque and La Roche de Saint-Martin.

The Avison is an iconic site in Bruyères. It is probably the historic centre of settlement in the area, as remains dating back to the 4th century have been found here. It is also a favourite walking spot for the locals. A 360° view awaits you from the top of the watchtower. Discover the surrounding valleys and the main peaks of the Vosges mountains.

The Circuit des Fourmis is the ideal place for a family walk. This short trail is dotted with ant sculptures, which explain its name, and information panels. The trail is marked with ant symbols.

This hike connects the two lakes via a forest path that is not always easy to find, stony and relatively slippery, especially on the final descent, but it is well worth the effort: the Lispach bog lake is magnificent!

This hike will appeal to forest lovers. It passes through a variety of forests: young and old, deciduous and coniferous, dense and sparse. Depending on the time of day or the season, you will be accompanied by birdsong.

This walk is accessible to all, alternating between paved roads and forest trails.

With the Jubilee Year of Hope, since November 2024, our Catholic Church in the Vosges has developed a proposal: "Saprée Vadrouille, travel journal for paths of hope", with three issues per year focusing on liturgical times and the saints of the Vosges.Several itineraries are proposed in the Vosges as local pilgrimages and paths of hope. This hike takes you to the Hautes Chaumes in the Tanet-Gazon du Faing Nature Reserve, starting on the Vosges side via the Ruhlock trail along a stream and returning via the Rudlin waterfall.There are beautiful views from the ridges over Lac Blanc and Lac des Truites or Lac du Forlet.

At the start of Lake Lispach, this hike will take you through a variety of settings. Peat bogs bordering Lake Lispach where you will see the Vosges’ forests and even some of the Rouge Feigne’s stubble more than 1,100 m above sea level. The return on the mountainside will eventually convince you that the Vosges are not just for cows...

In the Vosges forest, discover three lakes with very different environments, peat bogs and forest passages that can be quite technical at times.

This easy route invites you to discover Le Tholy from different angles. This loop, which is fully marked with green rings and red crosses, follows small roads, forest tracks and footpaths. Suitable for pushchairs, the aim of this walk is also to discover the village's wayside crosses.

A circuit through the forest to reach a fine viewpoint above the Abri des Champis overlooking the Vologne valley (Moselotte valley) and the Bresse and Hohneck massifs. It's a very pleasant way to start off, along Lac de Lispach, to admire this ancient glacial valley. The trails are perfectly signposted for walking, mountain biking and snowshoeing in winter. In summer, the ridge is a flower-filled meadow.

Both accessible and mountainous, this hike in the heart of the Croix Claudé ski area takes you along pleasant trails and offers two beautiful, remarkable views of the Vosges Mountains.

Forest loop (for summer or winter) starting from Balveurche and passing through the charming Belbriette valley.

An easy hike that passes by two pretty waterfalls, with trails through the woods and the Vosges countryside. The route follows the typical Club Vosgien signage, which may seem a little complex and confusing at first but, with a little practice, proves to be particularly effective, provided you have an IGN map to refer to.

A beautiful circular route near Saint-Dié, featuring the many remarkable rocks of the Ormont massif, with viewing points offering beautiful views of Saint-Dié. You will also discover part of the "Sentier du Capitaine Bonnefoy" trail with some remains from the First World War. Return via the bucolic site of the Molières waterfall.

The Sentier des Roches is a hiking trail in the Vosges mountains.In 1910, Heinrich Strohmeyer, general warden of the Water and Forestry Department and president of the Club Vosgien de Munster, proposed the creation of a trail linking the Col de Schlucht to Frankenthal near Hohneck.The Sentier des Roches is one of the most popular trails in the Vosges mountains.Please note: this hike is closed in winter (see practical information below).

This hike, which follows the marked trails of the Club Vosgien, will allow you to discover the forest, lakes, Hautes Chaumes... the Hautes Vosges. The numerous picnic spots and the warm welcome you will receive at the various farm inns will make your walk even more enjoyable.

Start at the Col de la Schlucht car park... A very athletic outing. Good equipment and good physical condition are recommended!

A beautiful snowshoe hike from the Col de la Schlucht.

This beautiful hike combines technical and physical sections and takes you along the famous Sentier des Roches trail to Lac du Schiessrothried and then Lac de Fischboedle. Please note: this hike is for experienced walkers. There are many steep slopes and some sections are dangerous, particularly for children. Risk of falls. Hiking is prohibited in winter (see practical information below) Please note 2: following a comment by "sdegrande" on 17/07/2024: "following a prefectural order, the trail from (11) is closed until further notice due to the risk of rockfalls." From (8), you can take a shortcut to go directly to (13) via the Blue Triangle trail. This trail is about 1 km long and quite steep. If you do not feel comfortable walking it, you can take a shortcut from (7) to go directly to (13) via the Blue Rectangle trail.

A magnificent circuit on the Vosges ridges with views of the Black Forest and, on clear, dry days, the Alps. 400 m of paved road, the rest on trails or wide paths.

Lac Vert (1,044 m) owes its name to the colour it takes on in summer due to the proliferation of algae. Lac des Truites (or Forlet) is the highest lake in the Vosges mountains at 1,066 m. Both are located in former glacial cirques dominated by the Hautes Chaumes.

Mythical and probably one of the most beautiful hikes in the Vosges Mountains! Perched above the Munster Valley with breathtaking natural views. Part of the loop is carved into the rock face and equipped with ladders and handrails. Sure-footedness, good hiking boots and walking sticks are required. This is a shorter version than the many others that exist, designed to take advantage of the shade provided by the vegetation and, on very hot days, avoid the exposed climb up the Col de Falimont. Another special feature is that it includes the "sentier des roches" (rock trail) on the way up.

A beautiful hike through the Hirschsteine rocks, an area less well known than the famous sentier des Roches, but just as impressive! You'll be amazed by the imposing metal staircase leading up to the rocks, the passageway carved into the rock and the vertiginous but safe path on the mountainside. Return via the ridges from Tanet. Beautiful views over the Munster valley and Lac Vert. This hike is not permitted in winter! (see practical information)

An easy, shaded hike. Refresh yourself at the St Augustin fountain, it will do you good.

A beautiful hike that takes you up to the “Gazons”, the famous pastures of the Hautes Vosges, and along the steep slopes overlooking the magnificent cirques where the lakes of Lac Vert and Lac du Forlet lie. All of this is situated at an altitude and in landscapes that are reminiscent of the Alps.

This hike allows you to discover varied landscapes, access the ridge and enjoy superb views of the entire Vosges mountains and the Alsace plain. A two-day walk around Hohneck for the whole family. We did it in two six-hour stages, at the pace of our children (aged 7 and 10) and including breaks. Hiking is prohibited until further notice by municipal decree due to rockfalls on theGR®®531trail. Please note! This route is not accessible in winter. Points (2), (3) and (4) connecting the Col du Falimont to Frankenthal are closed from 1 November to 30 April 2022 (prefectural decree of 18 May 2022).

A lovely walk at altitude to the highest village in the Vosges department.

This is an easy loop around the pretty mountain village of Haut du Tôt, with a few botanical, geological and perhaps photographic surprises. The Neuve Roche loop offers sights that are well worth a stroll, and the modest Pissoire waterfall marks the end of the circuit!

A magnificent, fairly easy hike on high moorland with sweeping views. From the summit of Kastelberg, you can see the main peaks of the Vosges and, on a clear day, the Alps.

This hike allows you to discover one of the most beautiful regions of the Vosges, in particular the two lakes of Schiessrothried and Fischboedle. It is classified as moderate, but it can be difficult due to some rocky and steep paths and a significant elevation gain.

The aims of this hike are to observe chamois in the Wormspel, dip your feet in the clear waters of the Schiessrothried lake and enjoy the beauty of the Frankenthal-Missheimle Nature Reserve. And if you can stop at a farmhouse inn, then it's a perfect day! A variation of this hike, passing through the Falimont Pass, is suggested in the practical information section. A beautiful viewpoint at the Roche des Ducs overlooking the Rochesson Valley or Bouchot Valley. A waterfall visible from a great height and crossed by a wooden bridge.

This varied and challenging loop, winding its way through the stubble fields and forests of the Vosges, offers beautiful views of the lakes and Alsace on one side and Lorraine on the other. You may even be lucky enough to spot some chamois. Walk along the Vosges ridges down to Lac de la Lande. This walk follows the Hautes Vosges stubble trails among Vosges cows, passing not far from the farmhouse inns of Breitzousen, Fershmuss and Schmargult. Further down, through the shady beech and spruce woods, you reach Lac de la Lande, an ideal spot for a picnic. A beautiful descent! But then a beautiful climb back up!!! Magnificent scenery and lots of flowers to admire in early July... and enjoy tasting local produce at the Steinwasen farm inn...

This hike is one of the most interesting in the Munster Valley. You will discover the Stolz Abalss waterfalls and, at the foot of the Hohneck, the Frankenthal glacial cirque with its rock faces, a favourite haunt of chamois, which can usually be seen early in the morning or in the evening

This is one of the classic walks in the Munster Valley. Walkers will discover the magnificent and refreshing Stolz Ablass waterfalls and the historic Mule Trail (14-18), all in the shade of the fir trees.

This is a beautiful hike that climbs along the Petite Fecht, offering views of the Stolz Ablass waterfalls, then the Frankenthal and its peat bog. The return journey is via the Gaschney, taking the Bloye trail.

From Schiessrothried, tour of Petit Hohneck, Dagobert's cave, Frankenthal and Col de Falimont. This route is not accessible in winter. The route is closed between (3), (4), (5) and (6) from 1 November to 30 April 2022 (Prefectural Order of 18 May 2022).

A beautiful hike with an "alpine" feel, so it's quite challenging!You will discover two small glacial lakes, the Schiessrothried and the Fischboedle, nestled at the foot of the Hohneck.From the Kerbholtz hillock facing the Spitzkoepfe ridge, you descend into the Combe de l'Ammelthal, with some very technical but safe passages, then the Combe de la Wormspel where you may spot chamois. A short hike offering a variety of mountain landscapes: high-altitude pastures, twisted beech trees, a cirque and glacial lakes.
