Crossing the Parc de la Tête d'Or is an opportunity to admire a renowned rose garden and visit the Île du Souvenir (when accessible). Finally, we climb steep stairs to return to the starting point.

This urban yet bucolic walk allows you to discover the wild banks of the Rhône, the new Passerelle de la Paix footbridge, the Croix-Rousse tunnel in a gentle way, the newly developed banks of the Saône and the market garden plateau that supplies the city.
The starting point is indicative. The walk can begin and end at virtually any point along the route.
Mont Thou and Mont Cindre from Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d'Or
An easy loop starting from Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d'Or to reach the heights of the Monts d'Or towards Mont Thou. The return route passes via Mont Cindre. There are some lovely views and several drystone shelters to discover along the way.
Circular Monts d'Or starting from Saint Cyr au Mont d'Or
This circular loop follows part of the Man and Landscape Trail, with a slight elevation gain and no major difficulties.
Urban walk in Lyon Croix Rousse: its slopes and plateau

Drystone shelters and trails in Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d'Or
An easy hike to discover the drystone shelters of Mont-d'Or. The cabornes are huts built of dry stone, which were used as shelters and for storing tools by farmers. They were also sometimes used as dwellings.

Circular Val de Saône in Sathonay
Walk starting from the church in Sathonay-Village. Slight incline, easy walk for families. You will be able to see animals at two points along the walk: horses, donkeys, chickens, geese and ostriches.
The most beautiful views of Lyon from Fourvière and Croix-Rousse
Starting from the Basilica of Fourvière (or Place Bellecour), the route allows you to enjoy the most beautiful views of the city.
You will pass by many of Lyon's must-see churches, monuments and theatres. You will climb up to Croix-Rousse through almost all of the traboules (covered passageways) on the hill. A truly peaceful route with virtually no cars.
Loop in the Monts d'Or starting from Saint-Romain
This loop follows the Grand Tour and Tour intérieur des Monts d'Or trails. We start at the Saint-Romain cemetery and head towards Mont Cindre via the Sentier des Rapaces trail. Towards Limonest, we walk alongside Château de la Barollière before climbing up to Mont Verdun. It's worth making a detour to visit the Glande lime kiln.
This route offers beautiful panoramic views around Mont Cindre and Mont Verdun, towards Poleymieux and the heights of Saint-Romain.
From Place Bellecour to Parc de la Tête d'Or in Lyon
This route allows you to walk along the banks of the Saône on the way there and the Rhône on the way back.
Along the way, we will enjoy the sights of the peninsula (the writers' wall, the Lyonnais wall, Place des Terreaux, the town hall, the opera house).
Halfway through, we will walk around the Parc de la Tête d'Or.
From Place Bellecour to Notre-Dame-de-Fourvière near the traboules
An easy walk through Lyon via the Saint-Jean district, up to Notre-Dame-de-Fourvière, the Saint-Georges district and, finally, near the traboules, these narrow passages between the houses of the Saint-Jean district (see the websites for guided tours).
A visit to the Roman amphitheatres is included, as well as a stop at the Jardin des Curiosités, a little green gem with one of the most beautiful views of Lyon.

Saint-Romain loop via Poleymieux and Curis-au-Mont-d'Or
This double loop of around fifteen kilometres with a significant elevation gain will take you through some beautiful panoramas and places in the Monts d'Or.
Starting from the pretty village of Saint-Romain, it will take you to the summit of Mont Thou with its magnificent panorama, then to the village of Poleymieux with its church and some beautiful drystone shelters.
You will cross the grounds of Château de Curis and then walk through the woods to return to your starting point, passing by the enigmatic Demeure du Chaos.
Saint-Romain-au-Mont-d'Or - Mont Thou loop
This is an easy, shaded walk where you can see many orchids in April and a few restored drystone shelters. Mont Thou offers beautiful views of the Saône valley and the Ain plain, and even further depending on the weather.
Drystone shelters are dry stone structures found in the Monts d'Or.

A half-nature, half-city walk starting from Lyon Saint-Irénée

Starting from the Fort de Lyon Saint-Just, 500 metres from the Saint Just funicular, this is a half-nature, half-city walk. It passes through several parks and the pretty little Razes valley, followed by a nature trail along the Thiện Minh Pagoda. There is a beautiful view of Lyon and the Alps from the Esplanade Lichfield in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon.
