Bagneaux-sur-Loing walks

A very varied walk, with the first third through a beautiful forest, then a landscape that gradually becomes more varied, with rocks strongly reminiscent of those at Fontainebleau. There is also a very beautiful plateau and large sandy hollows. There is the option of a visit, en route, to the Museum of Prehistory and, towards the end of the route, the old town of Nemours with its castle, the branches of the Loing and its canal. The paths and trails are mainly on well-drained sandy ground, so they are not muddy, even after rain. Most sections are well signposted,GR® or PR®.

A walk through varied landscapes ranging from woodland to farmland, the main attraction being the discovery of the eight Neolithic grinding stones found in the commune of Faÿ-les-Nemours. This commune also boasts an interesting church and a castle.

An easy hike in the Nemours National Forest. The path is very sandy and almost always in the shade. In autumn, at the end of the hike, between Les Brulis and La Mer de Sable, if the heather is in bloom, you can enjoy a beautiful rocky landscape.

In the footsteps of our Neolithic ancestors, this hike takes you to no fewer than eight sites with polishers, blocks of abrasive stone (here sandstone) that were used to shape everyday tools and weapons. The trail was designed and signposted by the Pays de Nemours Community of Communes.

It’s lovely in late summer and early autumn thanks to the golden colours of the leaves and the mild temperatures. Take care on the first part of the route, as there are rocks and tree roots on the paths. You’ll pass a troglodyte cave bearing an inscription of a quote attributed to Saint-Exupéry: “We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children”, a viewpoint over the Loing Valley, the Pierre-le-Sault quarry, and the ‘sea of sand’ which you cross to get back to your cars. There are no significant technical difficulties, so it’s fairly easy, but the ground is littered with pine needles in places, so you need to take particular care on the downhill sections.

A beautiful day ahead without too much elevation gain.

A hike from station to station, mainly through woodland. After climbing up a wooded valley and crossing a cultivated plateau, you follow a very winding route through rocky chaos that is every bit as impressive as that of the neighbouring Forest of Fontainebleau. Passing through the village of Poligny and the town centre of Nemours adds a lovely touch of heritage.

A walk from station to station starting in Souppes-sur-Loing, which follows the Canal du Loing past the leisure centre. A short detour to the former Abbey of Cercanceaux, passing through several locks, and arriving at Château-Landon, a charming medieval town perched high above the valley. Finally, head back towards the Ordives bridge and its ponds to return to Ordives station.

A short circular loop through the Nanteau Forest, very suitable for families with children and older people, offering a chance to get some fresh air without too much effort.

This walk follows the city's monument trail and adds the canal, ponds and promenade along the Fusain to combine a cultural approach with the discovery of bucolic landscapes.

Beautiful walk in the Dame Jouanne massif with magnificent views and a few curiosities.

Tour of the Commanderie Forest, with numerous viewpoints over the village of Larchant and its basilica. Nine kilometres with some steep climbs and a few rocky sections on a very shady route. If you don't make any noise, you may be surprised by the passing of a deer or a roe deer.

The very enjoyable scent of pine is everywhere. And the small sand dune that I would the "Little Dune of Pyla" is lovely.

This circular walk, starting from Rebours in the hamlet of Villemer – nestled between countryside and woodland – circles the private Villeron pond and follows the Villeron springs (Puits). This walk follows several sections ofthe PR® andGRP® trails. Please note that at certain times of year, the wetland area is often home to a few biting friends (mosquitoes). Apart from a fairly damp section, most of this circular walk follows small tarmac roads and fairly dry paths.

This route is the only one marked in green in the communeYou can start it from the village or from the garden in the valley; it takes in two superb valleys, that of the Betz via the Chemin du Roi and that of the Ardouzes, passing in front of the village’s listed church and the 13th-century Château du Mez le Maréchal (in the commune of Dordives).

This route explores the bottom of the Betz valley, with two lovely sections crossing fords or small bridges at Moulin de Madame and Barbigny, and above all a remarkable stretch through the forest in spring when the hyacinths are in bloom.
