Agen walks

From 26 June to 30 October 2025, cardboard artist Stéphane Munoz is exhibiting eight of his works in the centre of Agen. Here is a walk that allows you to discover this temporary exhibition and some historical curiosities of the city of prunes.

Route on the Fraisse plateau between the Goutère and Saint-Martin streams, starting from Madaillan town hall.

Circular route around the Trotte Lapin leisure centre, with much of the route through woodland and paths winding along the banks of streams.

Starting from the car park at the Trotte Lapin leisure centre, this circular route joins and crosses the village of Moirax, with its 11th-century church, then descends towards the Garonne valley before climbing back up for a very shady route dotted with streams.

A circular walk around Sainte-Colombe-en-Bruilhois through orchards, market gardens, woods and vineyards, offering sweeping views of Mourrens Church and the Garonne Valley. The route ends at the restored fountain and wash house at Au Rou, followed by a tour of the village around the church with its perfectly maintained cobbled streets.

A circular walk between Fals and Cuq, featuring hillsides, valleys and remarkable buildings.

A short circular route alternating between roads and paths between Monbalen-mairie and Monbalen-village. This route passes through the Caoulet valley to the north and Saint-Antoine de Ficalba to the west before reaching the old village of Monbalen to the south.

Starting from the charming village of Cuq and its mill, this route to Fals offers beautiful views of the surrounding countryside with several lovely climbs.

Route through the hills of the Buzet vineyards between Bruch and Montesquieu.

This circular route crosses the village then descends into the valley of the Estague stream before returning via the Pech de Bétou.

This circular route, which leads to the Chapel of Saint-Martin and the streams of Saint-Martin and Néguevieille, with large wooded areas, offers numerous views of the valleys to the north and south.

Panoramic walk around Sempesserre, a charming village in the Gers with a few half-timbered houses and the tower of one of its two former Gascon castles, where General Lagrange was born – a notable figure from the village who served during the Revolution and the Empire.

This easy route alternates between roads and paths between two beautiful Gascon villages: the recently renovated village of Sainte-Mère with its Gascon castle, and the village of Sempesserre, with sweeping views of the rolling countryside typical of the Gers region.

Circular route around Saint-Antoine, a stopover village on the Way of St James between Moissac and Lectoure, visited by 15,000 pilgrims each year.

A first circular route to the north of Castéra-Lectourois, then the second part to the south, following the shaded and refreshing meanders of the River Gers and discovering the Moulin de la Mothe.

Thirty-sixth stage of the Camino de Santiago. For this stage, due to the rain and mud making the paths difficult and slippery, I preferred to avoid the town of La Romieu. You are under no obligation to follow my route and, weather permitting, you can stay on theGR®65and visit La Romieu. On this somewhat long stretch, you begin to catch sight, in the distance, of the Pyrenees mountain range and the inevitable crossing into Spain looming ahead! After passing through Lectoure, the melon capital, there are ascents and descents as you move from one valley to another.

Thirty-fifth stage of the Way of St James. On this stage, you enter the Gers via Lomagne, this land of steep hills also known as ‘humpbacked Gascony’. This world-famous gastronomic region, home to foie gras and Armagnac, is also a land of captains, with its castles, fortified farms, redoubts, bastides, strongholds and more. Who hasn’t heard of d’Artagnan! You will follow pretty paths running parallel to the road, lined with fruit trees (apples, pears, cherries, figs, hazelnuts) and cypresses.

This hike is accessible to most people and follows aPR® marked in yellow and parts ofthe GR® 65 marked in white and red. All this around one of the most beautiful villages in France.

Thirty-seventh stage of the Way of St James. On this fairly long stage, you start off walking along undulating, grassy paths to Condom, a small town steeped in history and full of life. Your route then takes you over hill and dale, surrounded by fields of sunflowers and vineyards in the Armagnac region, to Montréal-du-Gers. Please note: in wet weather, some sections can be very muddy and slippery.

This is an easy walk offering beautiful landscapes typical of the region, where you can enjoy the view of the castle as you leave the Bois de Cadrès. The return to the village offers a landscape that is a delight for the eyes. To top it all off, the route is very well marked with arrows, yellow lines and the number 4 where necessary, as this is route 4 of the four available from the village.
