Circular tour from the Romanesque Church of Sainte-Radegonde to Bon-Rencontre

A lovely route to discover the heritage of Bon-Encontre, including the11th-century Romanesque Church of Sainte-Radegonde, listed as a historic monument since 1912. Perched on the hill, a statue of the Virgin Mary overlooks the entire Garonne valley (a stunning viewpoint).

Beautiful views, with few difficulties apart from the mud on the paths (it had rained the day before). A tricky section towards the end of the route, about 400 metres along a busy road with no pavement

We ran into a slight problem at the start: we got the Church of Sainte Radegonde and the Basilica of Bon Encontre mixed up. So we started the walk at (4) and shortened it: we went up to (3), then (2), and found a path, then a road that took us back to (5), then to (4). Duration of the walk: 1 hour 20 minutes, length 3.8 km.

Thank you for this walk.
A lovely walk with some beautiful views.
Sainte Radegonde at the start was magnificent in the morning sun; do pop into the cemetery (which is full of trees) for a bird’s-eye view from the top.
A bit too much tarmac towards the end of the route.

A pleasant route with plenty of shade.

Point 6: It says “join Avenue de l’Abbé Merchera”; this should be replaced with “Chemin de Gamet”.
