Park in the square by the 11th-century Romanesque church of Sainte-Radegonde in Bon-Encontre.
(S/E) Follow the road that brought you to the church, then at the junction, turn left (walk along the left-hand side of the Route de Sainte-Radegonde). You will reach a Y-junction.
(1) Turn right onto Route de Martinet, following the signs for the ‘Point de vue de la Vierge’ viewpoint. After the large bend , enjoy a beautiful view of the town of Agen and the little church.
(2) Turn right onto the path leading to the statue of the Virgin Mary and the viewpoint over the Garonne valley. Continue along the ridge and you will soon reach the crossroads of the Way of the Cross.
Head down to the right along the Way of the Cross and arrive at the junction before the secondary school.
(3) Turn left then right onto Rue du Calvaire, which ends at the Basilica of Notre-Dame de Bon-Encontre (19th century).
(4) Turn left and follow Rue de la République on the left-hand side. Continue straight on along the path that runs alongside Avenue René Lajunie until you reach the junction with Route de Cassou.
(5) Turn left between two rows of trees; at the end of the track, take a small flight of steps. At the top of the steps, turn right and follow the road. Join the Chemin de Gamet.
(6) Turn left and follow the road uphill. Take a path on the right that goes round the golf course. You’ll reach Route de Pontels at a place called Bartafon.
(7) Turn left onto it and follow it to the Mouly district. Turn left, continue straight on and reach the Chemin Rural de Pontels in Saint-Férréol.
(8) Turn left at the corner of the house onto a track that runs alongside the golf course. Follow it to reach the junction with Route de Paradou.
(9) Turn left here, go under the power line, and immediately take the small road that crosses the woods to join the Route Sainte-Radegonde.
(10) Turn left onto this road, follow it, then turn right off it to reach the Côte de Fromage. Turn left onto the Côte de Fromage. Return to Route de Sainte-Radegonde. Turn right and follow it back to the original junction.
(1) Turn right and follow the route you took on the way out to return to the church car park (S/E).
