Around Lake Kruth
More of a Sunday stroll than a real hike, this trail around Lake Kruth-Wildenstein, which is accessible to people with disabilities, will give you a breath of fresh air. It is particularly pleasant in summer when it is very hot in the valley.
On the heights of Lake Kruth
This short family hike takes you up to the ruins of Wildenstein Castle along a discovery trail dotted with information panels. On the way back down, you can walk around the lake and, once you arrive, enjoy the peaceful surroundings with a trip on a pedalo or, for the more energetic, a walk among the trees in the tree-top adventure park right next to the car park.

Grand tour of the Huselberg

Saint-Amarin - Mitzach / Tour du Hirschenbach - Sentier des Poètes variant
A pleasant circular route suitable for families or groups with inexperienced walkers and/or children. Numerous opportunities for breaks and stunning views over the Mitzach and Saint-Amarin valleys. You can shorten the walk by taking "shortcuts" to the valley at the end of the route and change the direction of the circular route by starting from Saint-Amarin and taking theGR®532(Yellow Rectangle) and/or following the "vita" route. However, this direction will be a little more "challenging" for those who are less physically fit.

A pleasant walk nestled in a small, fairly wild valley below the Vosges ridges. Soak up the natural surroundings with numerous small springs and waterfalls along the way. The forest reveals its secrets, so keep your eyes peeled and you may spot some of its inhabitants.

From Oderen up to Trehkopf via Uhufels and Gommkopf, returning via Katzensteg
From Oderen, a magnificent climb to Trehkopf, a paradise for paragliders, passing by the viewpoints of Uhufels and Gommkopf over the valley and the surrounding Vosges peaks, via the Treackerké shelter and the old Trehkopf cemetery, following pleasant paths mostly through the forest. After enjoying the ridges of Trehkopf and Jungfrauenkopf and a 360° view, the return journey will take you via the Treh farmhouse inn, Sainte-Anne Chapel, the Schalm shelter, the Katzensteg viewpoint and the Hensbach woods.

Father’s Day Trail in Geishouse
The ‘Father’s Day Trail’ is little known but nonetheless boasts incredible wild beauty. Starting from the heights of Geihouse, it leads to the Bessay stubble fields, where a stone bench awaits you with a superb view of the village, and continues to the Kestrel Shelter where you will discover one of the region’s most beautiful viewpoints.

Hike offering magnificent views, particularly at sunset behind the Ballons and with the magical lights of the Alsace plain. Plan to leave 2½ hours before the official sunset time. Please note that the return journey will be at night, so headlamps are required.
Le Drumont and Les Ventron from the Chapelle Saint-Nicolas
A fairly strenuous walk starting from the Chapelle Saint-Nicolas, heading to the Drumont and its magnificent viewpoint, then on to the Grand Ventron, before descending via the Kruth and Frenz dams. Magnificent views of the wild forests on the Alsatian side, the Ventron massif and, of course, several 360° views of the Vosges mountain range.
Rehbrunnel and Wotan Oak from Thann, return via the Rangen vineyard
Starting from Thann, a pleasant climb through the forest towards the Wotan Oak viewpoint (Rehbrunnel shelter) via the greenway, passing at the foot of the Drachenfells then through Heida Platzala and the Waldkapelle. Return via the Col de Grumbach, the ruins of Engelbourg Castle (Witch’s Eye), and a climb to the Croix du Rangen and its viewpoint before a pleasant descent winding through the vineyards, whilst enjoying the magnificent panoramic view over Thann and the Thur Valley.

The Rossberg and the Thanner Hubel
A hike that will allow you to discover a beautiful Vosges peak, the Rossberg, which offers a magnificent view of the entire massif, from the Ballon d’Alsace to the Grand Ballon and the Honneck, and, on a clear day, the snow-capped peaks of the Alps. A place that remains free from cars and crowds as no road leads there!
From Urbès to Gustiberg via Mahrel
Walk starting from Urbès towards the Gustiberg farmhouse lodge. The first section is easy, heading towards the campsite and the Urbès tunnel. The climb begins on the path leading to Petit Mahrel and then Haut Mahrel, at the Amis de la Nature lodge. The climb continues to the Gustiberg farmhouse, with some fairly steep sections. Once on the stubble fields, descend towards Urbès through the forest.
From Fellering to Le Treh via Siebach and back via Ranspach
From Fellering church, climb towards Le Treh via the Siebach stubble fields and the Schwitzerwald forest.
The path is quite steep but offers a stunning view of the Saint-Amarin valley.
The descent follows the forest on the eastern slope down to Ranspach and the botanical trail back to Fellering.
Engelbourg Castle and Saint-Urbain Chapel

Ostein Farm and Rock, Camp Turenne and Molkenrain from Bitschwiller
Starting from Bitschwiller-lès-Thann, climb to Camp Turenne via the Wickenbaechle path, the Ostein Farm Inn, the Triade shelter and Rocher d’Ostein, then climb to Molkenrain via the Friends of Nature refuge. Return via Camp Turenne, Baerenthal, Camp des Pyramides, Place des Canaris and Roche Albert. This loop walk passes numerous vantage points overlooking the Thur Valley and the surrounding peaks, such as Thanner Hubel and the Grand Ballon, as well as iconic historical sites on theFirst World War front.
The Felsach Farm Inn from the Col d'Oderen
This beautiful circular route starting from the Col d'Oderen quickly takes hikers up onto the ridges towards the Felsach farmhouse inn. It then offers a superb panoramic descent to the Frenz resort (Kruth), followed by a climb back up to the pass via the valley floor through a charming old mountain forest.
From Kruth to Schafert
A beautiful hike in the rear valley of the Thur, near Lake Kruth-Wildenstein, which will take you to the heights of Kruth, with beautiful views of the upper valley and the Rossberg-Thannerhubel massif.
Camp Turenne, Rocher d’Ostein and Roche Albert in a circular route from Thann
Start from Thann Kattenbach, climb to Camp Turenne via the Croix du Rangen overlooking the grand cru of the same name. Pass by the Waldkapelle and the Rehbrunnel shelters, near the Wotan Oak and Becherkopf, to the Camp Turenne monument, then a round trip to Rocher Ostein, offering magnificent views over the Thur valley and the neighbouring Vosges peaks. Descent via Camp des Pyramides, Place des Canaris and the Roche Albert viewpoint, followed by the Greenway along the Thur and a climb to Engelbourg (Œil de la Sorcière) to enjoy the view over Thann.
Route de découverte de Thann
Thann is the starting point of the Wine Route. It is therefore a very large wine-growing region. Its history is closely linked to this industry. Situated at the entrance to the Thur Valley, this route allows you to visit the town, which is well worth a stop. Among the monuments you’ll encounter are the Saint-Thiébaut Collegiate Church and the Witches’ Tower. There are several squares and parks, such as Parc Albert1er and Place de Lattre de Tassigny... There is every reason, therefore, to stop off in this town before heading for Lorraine or Alsace.
Œil de la Sorcière (Witch's Eye) from Bitschwiller
This is a relatively accessible hike, taking you from viewpoint to viewpoint to Engelbourg and the Œil de la Sorcière from Bitschwiller, then gently back up along the river on the cycle path.
The Treh route
Head for the Route des Crêtes and the Le Treh farmhouse inn! Get your calves ready for the long climb you’ll face to reach the summit at an altitude of 1,139 metres. The traditional cheese-maker’s meal awaiting you there is well worth the effort. Le Treh is open every day except Mondays and Tuesdays.
