A short walk starting from the Geishouse hikers’ car park.
Ideal for a picnic with a magnificent view of the village, the neighbouring peaks and the Alps when the sky is clear.

Description of the walk

The walk starts from the hikers’ car park on Rue du Ballon in Geishouse. If the car park is full, you can use the one at Salle Bramaly and walk towards the cemetery.

(S/E) Head towards the ‘Parcours de Santé’ sign, above the car park near thefirst barriers on the greenway. Head towards the wooden shelter above on the right; at thefirst junction, leave the ‘Parcours Sportif’ on your left and turn right until you reach the next junction of paths.

(1) Take the path branching off to the left. Walk steadily uphill, ignoring the left-hand turn-offs, until you reach a junction a few dozen metres after a right-hand bend.

(2) Continue to the right on almost level ground before a climb to reach a cross-path.

(3) Carry on straight ahead towards the Refuge du Faucon Crécerelle. The path heads east and meets the access path to the Faucon Crécerelle shelter a few dozen metres to the right. See Practical Information.

(4) After this panoramic stop, take the path accessible after the barbecue area. It descends slightly, to the left of the panoramic viewpoint. At the junction, about 200 m further on, continue down to the right, due south, until you reach the Voie Verte.

(5) There are two options:
- stay on the path that runs alongside the Voie Verte (this is the option shown on the map) until you reach the junction with a path coming from the right,
- ortake the Voie Verte, keeping an eye on the right-hand side for the point where this path joins the Voie Verte.

(6) Turn left, cross the Voie Verte and take the path that descends to the left. A sign points towards Moosch. Ignore a path coming from the right, then another coming from the left, and continue to the end of the path at the junction with a wide track

(7) Take a moment to enjoy the view whilst sitting on the bench. Then turn right onto the path which descends slightly, curves widely to the left and joins a signposted trail. Continue for about a hundred metres.

(8) On your left, open the green gate to take the footpath. Pass through two more gates (make sureto close them properly). Further on, join the Greenway to return to the walkers’ car park (S/E).

Superb viewpoint. 1 hour of good climbing followed by 1 hour of good descending. But between the 2, a spot with a crazy view and picnic robots.

After our picnic at the mountain hut, we went for another short walk towards Le Haag to rejoin the route at point 5 via a path marked with red-white-red signs. A brilliant walk.
