Depart from the car park of the Bunkert primary school in Thann, near the fire station. From the RN66 Mulhouse-Thann, take Rue Kléber and Rue Anatole Jacquot.
(S/E) Head towards Kattenbach after crossing the Thur bridge, Rue du Rangen, passing in front of the Kattenbach nursery school, the Établissement Saint-Joseph. Turn right onto Rue du Kattenbachy.
Keep right at the crossroads and continue to the last house (Bois Joli).
(1) Take the small path on the right that goes uphill. Take Chemin Montaigne, turning completely to the right; do not take the blue triangle path. Stay on the lower path to reach the Rangen shelter and the Saint-Urbain Chapel.
(2) Continue straight ahead until you reach a large rock (Drachenfels or Dragon Rock), then turn left.
(3) At the next path, turn right onto the red-white-red trail. Then continue left onto the blue cross trail. You will arrive at Place du Repos.
(4) Go straight ahead and then turn left onto the red-white-red trail, which enters the pine forest, and reach the ponds. Turn left and follow the blue cross markings. Follow this wide path. At the three-way junction, keep right and reach the small square (Supapltzla or Place de la Soupe).
(5) Head straight ahead to reach the Oratoire de l'Ifiss.
(6) Return by the same route to the previous crossroads.
(5) Continue straight ahead on the wide track to climb slightly into the forest. At the crossroads, ignore the track on the right leading to the Sainte-Thérèse Chapel. Continue left, following the yellow triangle markings to reach the Waldkapelle (Forest Chapel) further on.
(7) Take the path opposite that descends to Thann via Ihlersthal, again marked with red-white-red signs. Cross the path and continue following the same signs. Descend and return to the first crossroads at Kattenbach.
(1) Retrace your steps to return to the car park where you started (S/E).
