Péreuil walks
Between the windmills and the watermills of Péreuil
A lovely route, which passes close to three old windmills and then descends to the banks of the Né and Arce rivers, where there are three watermills. The route then climbs back up through the vineyards before descending again to the banks of the Né. A hilly route with beautiful views.
Circular route on the hillsides of Péreuil
A gently undulating countryside route that passes close to three old windmills. Stunning views spanning almost 180°.
Around the Templar Chapel from Cressac-Saint-Genis
A hilly route with some beautiful scenery and the Templars’ Chapel, which is open to visitors – please enquire at Blanzac town hall or tourist office.
From Étriac to the Mainfond hot air balloon site
This is a very beautiful hike with a few hills, and you will often see multicoloured hot air balloons decorating the sky and adding to the enjoyment of the hike.
On the hills above Champagne-Vigny
A magnificent walk starting from Champagne-Vigny. You’ll pass the manor house where Alfred de Vigny stayed, and discover a rich architectural heritage (Saint-Christophe Church) and numerous (breathtaking) panoramic views over the Blanzacais hillsides.
Circular walk around Champagne-Vigny
This is my favourite running route. It follows only quiet roads, so it’s also suitable for walking. The landscape is hilly, with vineyards, other crops and a few scattered farms.
The Né Valley starting from Pont à Brac
A route with significant elevation changes and beautiful views over the Né valley.
Blue-marked route.
Hillside route in Plassac-Rouffiac
Set off on a route offering beautiful views of the rolling countryside of southern Charente, with colours that change with the seasons, ranging from the ochres to the whites of the chalky hills in winter, and from the green to the golden hues of the crops in fine weather.
The Donkey Trail
There’s plenty of variety along this route, which takes you up and down the small hills of Viville. You’ll pass close to the old windmill and alongside an old mill on the River Né.
Through small hamlets, woods and fields in Nonac
A walk through rolling countryside, with beautiful scenery, amongst vineyards and woods.
The Biracois Fifteen
A long walk that will take you through the sweeping landscapes around Birac. Lots of vineyards, but also other crops and livestock farming.
Six-Seven from Birac
A short walk through the Birac countryside and its small hamlets.
Malaville Fountains Trail
A route that follows the old railway line for part of the way and, for the rest, offers a walk through the vineyards with some very beautiful views.
Circular route around the village of Saint-Estèphe
A varied walk through vineyards, various crops and woodland, with no great difficulty or significant elevation gain, offering the chance to see ‘cribs’ (open-air drying racks for maize cobs).
The Gallo-Roman tracks of Éraville
Path, marked in red, following ancient Roman roads.
Route of Les Meulières de Claix and Les Chaumes du Vignac
The hike to the Meulières de Claix and Chaumes du Vignac sites is located south-west of Angoulême, 20 minutes by car via the RN 10. A protected site for its flora and fauna, it is a limestone plateau offering beautiful views of the Claix valley. The hike is beautiful and offers varied landscapes alternating between rocky areas (Meulières and Chaumes du Vignac), forests, vineyards, hamlets, historical monuments and cultivated plains.
On the hills above Courgeac and Saint-Eutrope
Beautiful countryside, with varied landscapes and unobstructed views.
