Between the windmills and the watermills of Péreuil

Start from the car park at the Salle des Fêtes, Place du Souvenir.

(S/E) Walk up the road and past the old schools. At the junction immediately after, turn right, walk past a house and continue along the path opposite. Walk straight on until you reach the road.

(1) Turn left, go straight on and continue along the path that runs parallel to the road. Pass close to three old windmills on the right. When you reach the road, go straight on, take the right-hand bend and then pass the entrance to the hamlet of Grand Chadenne. At the end of the hamlet, look to the left at the collection of old ploughs and continue along the road to the T-junction.

(2) Turn right, and immediately afterwards, turn left onto a small path between the vineyards.

(3) Cross the road (D5) with care and head straight on towards the Moulin de Larmat. Follow the road as it bends sharply to the right and, at the next bend, take a path straight ahead. Join a road near the Moulin de Lussier.

(4) Turn left and then immediately right almost opposite, heading towards the hamlet of Malatret. Take the first road on the right at the entrance to the hamlet, heading towards Malatret and the Commanderie. At the T-junction, veer right, cross the hamlet and then go straight on past the hamlet of Beau Séjour. Continue to the D5 junction.

(5) Cross the road with care, then head straight on towards the Moulin de l’Abbaye. Just before the mill, turn left, following the yellow mark on a post: it is not very visible. The path is opposite the start of the low wall surrounding a garden and just before the orchard.
Follow the path to the houses and, once you reach the road, turn right and cross the hamlet of Chez Allard. Continue to the next hamlet, Chez Bouchaud, and go as far as the crossroad.

(6) Cross with care and head almost straight ahead towards Les Grands Haïs. Cross the hamlet, go to the end and continue along the path opposite through the vineyards. Go straight on to the next hamlet, Les Petits Haïs.

(7) When you reach the first building and the road, turn right. Continue to the next junction, turn right again and follow the road to the next junction. Turn left, cross the Pont des Chintres and continue to the crossroads at the hamlet known as Le Treuil.

(8) Take the small road opposite: the name of the hamlet is written near the postbox on the small road you are following. Continue to the T-junction, turn right and head for the Place du Souvenir (S/E).
