Palluau-sur-Indre walks

This walk starts at the Abbey Church of Sainte-Marie in Saint-Genou and allows you to discover, amongst other things, the beautiful surrounding countryside, the banks of the Indre, the Church of Saint-Sulpice and the feudal (private) castle at Palluau-sur-Indre, the old cellars now inhabited by bats, and the small (private) château of La Joubardière.

Overlooking and running alongside the Indre valley in its first section, this varied route will take you past three of the region’s most beautiful country houses as you make your way along.

This pleasant walk allows you to explore the surroundings of the village of Sainte-Gemme, situated within the Brenne Regional Nature Park. It takes you through a variety of landscapes: fields and meadows, woodland and a pond.

The Bellebouche Pond is one of the oldest, largest and most beautiful bodies of water in the Brenne Regional Nature Park. A small part is reserved for water sports, but most of it is a natural site that you can admire at your leisure with binoculars from three observatories around the pond.

This pleasant walk starts in the hamlet of Chambon, near Villedieu-sur-Indre, and follows the southern slope of the Indre Valley to the village of Bonneau, returning via the northern slope, with some lovely views.

This walk near Saint-Michel-en-Brenne is a variation of route no. 60 proposed by the Brenne Regional Nature Park, entitled “Saint-Cyran-en-Brenne”.It follows small roads and paths, allowing you to discover, amongst other things, the Abbey of Saint-Cyran, built in the 7th century, and the bucolic, wooded landscapes of the Brenne, before leading to the Étang des Essarts observatory in the Chérine Reserve.

This route takes you through the medieval village of Moulins-sur-Céphons, situated on the border of the Boischaut Nord and the Champagne Berrichonne, and allows you to explore the surrounding area.

Leaving Bridoré, with its lake and impressive castle, you set off on a walk across the plateau overlooking the Indre valley. In the middle of the fields, the wide open spaces offer beautiful views of a castle in the distance or simply the green Indre valley.

Leaving Saint-Hippolyte, you set off on a short loop through the countryside. After a short stretch beside the Indre, you'll wind your way through the fields to discover a number of hamlets, as well as the woods overlooking the village.

This hike starts at the Renaissance castle of Azay-le-Ferron and takes you into the heart of the Preuilly forest. It offers some unexpected points of interest: a monument dedicated to the Resistance, a pond nestled in the undergrowth and glimpses of the Haute-Touche animal park.

This walk first takes you to the Étang de la Foulquetière. You then cross through magnificent woodland before returning to Luçay-le-Mâle via paths and small country lanes. You will then discover its heritage, notably its (private) château. Some sections follow the route of the Benjamin Rabier discovery trail.

A walk in the heart of Brenne and its ponds. The hike takes you past numerous ponds. Don't hesitate to take a detour to the Étang de la Gabrière and Étang de Gabriau ponds.

This lovely walk on the edge of the Brenne Regional Nature Park takes you through a variety of landscapes typical of this region: meadows, ponds and pleasant woodland.

This is a figure-of-eight route starting from the hamlet of Le Blizon, along a wide path through the Brenne ponds. A pleasant walk, partly shaded and dotted with viewing points.

Discover the small village of Sennevières, nestled in a valley at the edge of the Loches National Forest. A short walk through the Touraine countryside will take you to the former royal forest with its wide forest paths. You can stroll under the canopy of trees, in the shade of hundred-year-old oaks...

This hike starts in Vicq-sur-Nahon and takes you to the western hills overlooking the Nahon valley. It leads you to the Château de la Moustière and then the Château de Langé. You will then follow the Nahon river to climb the eastern hills. You will take part of the Benjamin Rabier discovery trail.

The trail runs under the cool shade of Brenne's largest forest, then crosses flower-filled meadows dotted with buttons and ponds. This is an introductory walk through a land of scents that also displays an extraordinary palette of colours!

This walk allows you to discover some of the ponds in the Brenne Regional Nature Park, specifically around the village of Migné.

Set off to explore the villages of Saint-Jean and Saint-Germain, separated by the Indre but united by an ordinance since 1834 to form Saint-Jean-Saint-Germain. You will discover a varied heritage, marked by the history of the area, but also by the river, and you will pass from the valley to agricultural areas dotted with hamlets and farms.

This walk allows you to explore the surroundings of Faverolles-en-Berry, a town on the northern border of the Indre department, and its heritage, such as its church, the troglodyte dwellings and cellars, as well as the ‘cliffs’ and tuffeau quarries.

In Chemillé-sur-Indrois, the vast lake cannot be seen at a glance. You will need to walk along it, then move away, explore the forest to discover a charterhouse, before finally returning and climbing up to get a better view. A route that will delight lovers of nature and heritage.

This walk takes you to several ponds around Rosnay, in the heart of the Brenne Regional Nature Park. The paths are often lined with hedges known as bouchures in this region.

From the village of Perrusson, you will set off on a circuit along the eastern side of the Indre valley. The green meadows along the river will give way to fields and woods, dotted with hamlets and villages where life is good. Keep your eyes peeled, as the narrow streets and valleys sometimes hide some lovely surprises...

On this route, after a section exploring the heritage of the market town of Perrusson, you'll head off to explore the countryside. Woods, fields, open countryside, geological curiosities and finally wet meadows - this is a programme that should please walkers looking for a variety of atmospheres.

A pleasant walk that allows you to discover the town of Luant and its surroundings, at the gateway to the Brenne Regional Nature Park.

After a quick tour of the village of Ferrière-sur-Beaulieu, with its old priory, you will set off on an excursion that takes place almost exclusively in the forest. And what a forest! The Loches National Forest, a former royal forest and favourite playground of the kings of France when they stayed in Loches. Sometimes on the wide avenues ofthe 19th century, sometimes on small paths, you will discover hidden sites in the middle of the woods, notably the Étang de Ferrière.

This walk takes you along paths and small roads through the countryside surrounding Douadic, a village situated in the Brenne Regional Nature Park. Among other things, you’ll discover the Suin Valley and the Étang de la Hire.

From the monastic city of Beaulieu-lès-Loches, discover little-known paths that offer unique views of the bell towers of Beaulieu and the royal city of Loches. You will walk along paths carved into the rock, across the plateau through fields, and make a detour into the forest of Loches to see the Étangs de Ferrière.
