Worth a visit

The Chartreuse du Liget (open to visitors).
On the edge of the forest, towards Montrésor, stands an important architectural complex, the former Chartreuse du Liget. Founded inthe 12th century by King Henry II of England, then Master of Touraine, the monastery quickly became one of the richest in the region. This status explains the richness of the decorations that have survived despite numerous acts of destruction, particularly during the Revolution.

The Corroirie du Liget (open to visitors).
Not far from the Charterhouse is the Château-Monastère de la Corroirie, with its fortified buildings. The brothers of the Carthusian order lived and worked here, separated from the fathers who had retired to the Charterhouse.

Group hike on a beautiful October day. At point 4, we continued along the Geoffroy le Hardi path to the Pas aux Anes pond, then took a trail to point 5.
We enjoyed the varied landscapes and some beautiful houses.

Thank you for suggesting this hike.

It's a shame that there's quite a lot of tarmac at the start and end of the route
there are some lovely views in the hamlets. The countryside is nice
the route is probably busier in the national forest.
