This short trail stakes you through gently rolling farmland, past small pockets of woodland and across the Grand Union Canal and its “stairway to heaven” flight of locks at Hatton.

This trail takes you from the station at Hatton who’s most notable landmark is the Hatton Locks – a lovely location to watch colourful narrowboats as they move through the flight of 21 locks, onto the Lapworth and Kingswood via the towpath of the Grand Union Canal. An easy five-mile amble following the towpath of the Grand Union Canal through some of Warwickshire’s finest countryside.

On this trail you’ll discover some of Warwickshire’s most glorious countryside as you meander from the ancient village of Bearley. Recorded in the Domesday Book, Bearley has links with the Shakespeare family through Mary Arden, Shakespeare’s mother. Bearley is also home to the Bearley Vineyard whose wines can be purchased at village stores, local wine merchants and local National Trust properties

This circular has no stiles and is therefore suitable for dogs. It goes along quiet lanes, mostly flat through some attractive woodland and open countryside. It touches the outskirts of Warwick and along a section of the Grand Union Canal. This is walk 33 from the 44 composing the Millenium Way.

A pleasant circuit on the country lanes of Warwickshire.

On this circular walk, short sections of the route are along roads but mostly you will be walking along the riverbank, near to parks, or by the canal. Also, you will pass the historic Warwick Castle and St. John's House Museum near to the centre of Warwick. This walk goes across mostly flat open countryside, but incorporating an interesting church, pleasant woodland and the delightful Kenilworth castle. During the early part of the walk you will follow a short section of the Millennium Way along the Grand Union Canal and, after walking some delightful open, flat countryside, will rejoin it at Temple Balsall.
