Great Alne walks

Lovely walk around Withycombe - Redhill - Temple Grafton - Exhall - Oversley - Upton and Haselor.

This is the 4th section of the Millenium Way 100 miles from Coughton to Henley in Arden.

This trail starts at Wootton Wawen station, following the course of the Stratford-upon- Avon Canal over the impressive Edstone Aqueduct to Wilmcote. Explore Warwickshire’s oldest church, England’s longest iron aqueduct and enjoy some unparalleled views along the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal.

This delightful circular walk starts from The Throckmorton near Coughton Court a well-known National Trust property. This is walk 23 from the 44 composing the Millenium Way.

This circular walk combines the delights of both town and country walking. Starting in the Coughton you will enjoy riverside paths, country lanes and gentle farmland. Just over half distance you go down the attractive Alcester High Street. There is also the chance to visit Coughton Court, an interesting and attractive National Trust property. Starting in Alcester town centre, this route gives good views, an interesting Church, before returning to Alcester with choice of shops, cafes and pubs.

Easy and short walk from the Studley Castle car park to the woodland, several fishing lakes, the Castle Farm and Nursery and finally the Studley Castle itself, before going back to the Castle car park.

On this trail you’ll discover some of Warwickshire’s most glorious countryside as you meander from the ancient village of Bearley. Recorded in the Domesday Book, Bearley has links with the Shakespeare family through Mary Arden, Shakespeare’s mother. Bearley is also home to the Bearley Vineyard whose wines can be purchased at village stores, local wine merchants and local National Trust properties

This lovely walk is across glorious open countryside with a few gentle inclines, along riverside and through woodland with a short section along quiet country lanes. Suitable for dogs. This popular linear trail starts at Stratford-upon-Avon Parkway station, and follows the canal towpath to the village of Wilmcote and Mary Arden’s Farm. A gentle wander along the banks of the Stratford- upon-Avon canal as far as Wilmcote, Shakespeare’s mother’s family home.

This circular walk will take you through farmland and around the privately owned Mockley Wood, one of the larger woodlands in this part of Warwickshire. In the springtime, be sure to peer into the wood and see the unending, sweet smelling carpet of bluebells. Keep your eyes peeled for the rather incongruous rusting truck hidden in the undergrowth on the return leg - a local landmark!

This medieval market town needs no introduction as the birthplace of Shakespeare (he’s buried here too) and this trail will help you discover the key sites inked to England’s most famous playwright. Follow in the footsteps of the bard himself on an easy wander to explore just about everything Shakespeare related in Stratford-upon-Avon.

This circular route from Wood End station takes you through some beautiful Warwickshire countryside and the picture perfect village of Tanworth-in-Arden. ⚠️ The railway crossing part is apparently completely blocked off currently 'for safety reasons', please read the reviews and if you have done the walk please let us know how it went to help the author.

This circular walk starts at The Boot Inn Lapworth on the B4439 south east of Hockley Heath. Initially the route follows the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal, leaving this at Drawbridge Farm to follow a delightful section of the Millennium Way. This is walk 35 from the 44 composing the Millenium Way.

This circular route incorporates the National Trust’s Packwood House, three pubs and a flight of locks as well as taking you through some of the prettiest countryside between Warwick and Solihull.
