Cubbington walks

This is the 9th section of the Millenium Way 100 miles from Leamington Spa to Long Itchington.

This easy circular town walk can be completed in under two hours, but it is better to take at least a half day, so that you can explore some of the monuments, historical sites along the way, linger in the attractive parks, visit the museum and cafe in the Pump Rooms and enjoy the tranquillity of the Grand Union Canal and River Leam. The first half of this country walk follows the route of The Millennium Way as far as Newbold Comyn Park before returning along a lovely section of the Grand Union Canal, then along the Offchurch Greenway to return back to Offchurch. This is walk 28 from the 44 composing the Millenium Way.

A fashionable spa town with a history built on its saline springs, Leamington Spa’s beautiful town centre is known for its Regency architecture, wide boulevards and award-winning gardens. First following the Grand Union Canal and then the River Leam, this trail takes you into the surrounding countryside to the village of Offchurch. On your route you can explore the Leam Valley Local Nature Reserve and Newbold Comyn, as well as the renowned Jephson Gardens. Branch out from this fashionable spa town to follow the Grand Union Canal to the village of Offchurch and back via Newbold Comyn.

On this circular walk, short sections of the route are along roads but mostly you will be walking along the riverbank, near to parks, or by the canal. Also, you will pass the historic Warwick Castle and St. John's House Museum near to the centre of Warwick. Set on the River Avon, this historic market town is full of medieval, Georgian and Victorian architecture and graced with beautiful gardens and parks, crowned by its world famous Warwick Castle – the ancestral home of the Earls of Warwick.

This trail takes you from the heart of Kenilworth and out across farmland and open countryside, with many attractive views. You are a stone’s throw from the babbling Inchford Brook, the rolling greenery of Abbey Fields, and some monumental WW2 relics at Goodrest Farm. You’ll also get even closer to some gorgeous Alpacas before the halfway point!

A breath of fresh air as you wander through tranquil farmland with wonderful views over Warwick and meander along the towpath of the Grand Union Canal to the famous locks at Hatton. Strike out into glorious rolling countryside en route to Hatton’s famous flight of 21 locks on the Grand Union Canal.

Vibrant Coventry... England’s 9th largest city is known for its industrial past (think cars, bicycles and ribbons), Lady Godiva, and of course the devastating bombing in WWII which practically destroyed St Michael's Cathedral., Wilmcote Coventry, today is a city of unsung art and culture.

This walk between Canley and Coventry railway stations explores the green spaces of Canley Ford Local Nature Reserve, Top Green Park, and Coventry’s largest city park, the stunning War Memorial Park.

This circular walk, nearly all off-road, offers good views and interesting churches.

This circular walk brings you to visit Wasperton along Thelsford Brook and across farmlands. It is an easy walk, no significant inclines or declines, and only a few stiles/gates to navigate.

This circular walk covers a delightful area of Warwickshire countryside between Coventry and Balsall Common, crossing fairly flat farmland, some woodland and quiet lanes. This is walk 30 from the 44 composing the Millenium Way.

This trail explores the remaining areas of woodland from what was once part of the great Forest of Arden. Historically this was an area of scattered farmsteads, mostly belonging to the Stoneleigh Estate. You’ll still see occasional older buildings amongst the modern development as well as the plaque which marks the site of the former Massey Ferguson Factory.
