Circular walk around Champagne-Vigny
This is my favourite running route. It follows only quiet roads, so it’s also suitable for walking. The landscape is hilly, with vineyards, other crops and a few scattered farms.
Hillside route in Plassac-Rouffiac
Set off on a route offering beautiful views of the rolling countryside of southern Charente, with colours that change with the seasons, ranging from the ochres to the whites of the chalky hills in winter, and from the green to the golden hues of the crops in fine weather.

The route passes through moorland with pine woods and several white clay quarries.
The route starts at the Vallier pond estate and crosses the communes of Passirac, Guizengeard and Boisbreteau.

This is a very beautiful hike with a few hills, and you will often see multicoloured hot air balloons decorating the sky and adding to the enjoyment of the hike.
Between beautiful mansions and the viaduct
Beautiful mansions with gardens open to visitors. La Forge, the Moulin de Nanteuillet, and the very long Viaduc des Coutaubières, 303 m long with its 12 arches. The Moulin du Duc with its lodges.
Route of Les Meulières de Claix and Les Chaumes du Vignac
The hike to the Meulières de Claix and Chaumes du Vignac sites is located south-west of Angoulême, 20 minutes by car via the RN 10. A protected site for its flora and fauna, it is a limestone plateau offering beautiful views of the Claix valley. The hike is beautiful and offers varied landscapes alternating between rocky areas (Meulières and Chaumes du Vignac), forests, vineyards, hamlets, historical monuments and cultivated plains.
The Né Valley starting from Pont à Brac
A route with significant elevation changes and beautiful views over the Né valley.
Blue-marked route.
The Donkey Trail
There’s plenty of variety along this route, which takes you up and down the small hills of Viville. You’ll pass close to the old windmill and alongside an old mill on the River Né.
The Biracois Fifteen
A long walk that will take you through the sweeping landscapes around Birac. Lots of vineyards, but also other crops and livestock farming.
