The bread oven at Rioclar
This is a short walk, the main purpose of which is to admire the surrounding mountains, including the Tête de Louis XVI. The village's municipal bread oven, still used by the villagers, bears witness to a time when Rioclar was isolated from the valley.

Faucon-de-Barcelonnette - Bouzoulières
A walk in the hills above Faucon-de-Barcelonnette offering views of the valley’s peaks: Grande Séolane, Chapeau de Gendarme, Croix de l’Alpe...
The walk is mainly along a small tarmac road. A footpath allows you to shorten the road sections. We walked after snowfall and chose to be cautious, i.e. we took the road. The snow made the landscape even more beautiful.
Rousson route starting from Bouzoulières
This lovely route offers superb views of the Ubaye Valley, the Pain de Sucre and the Chapeau de Gendarme. A mix of woodland and meadows, and a hidden wetland area off the path.

Warning! Changing vegetation and the lack of signposting make this walk unpredictable if you do not feel confident navigating terrain that is sometimes difficult and off-trail. Rely on your eyes (traces of previous passage, topography), a 1:25,000 map (which will give you a larger viewing area than a GPS screen) and your GPS (to know where you are and how to orient your map).
Lac Sainte-Marguerite and Source de Jérusalem
A very pleasant circular above Les Orres resort, allowing you to discover a beautiful lake, Sainte-Marguerite, and the springs that feed Les Orres, named Jerusalem.
Chapeau Gendarme Ouest from the Super-Sauze resort
A circular hike to one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the Ubaye Valley, ascending via the magnificent western path and descending via the eastern path.

The Col du Pouzenc
If you are in the Serre Ponçon area, this hike is well worth the climb. You will walk through a very quiet valley that is rarely visited, even in the height of summer, inhabited only by marmots and a few chamois, and hundreds of alpine flowers of all kinds in July!
There is an impressive view of Serre-Ponçon once you reach the pass.

The Les Orres orientation table and Lake Sainte-Marguerite
Starting from Les Orres 1850 resort, a lovely circular route that passes by the orientation table at 2,769 m and Lake Sainte-Marguerite.
The Belvédère and Lake Sainte-Marguerite
The first section follows the “Plein les yeux” route through a larch forest to reach a viewpoint offering views of the Tête de la Mazelière with its ice falls. Then, via an ascent along a wide forest track, reach the wild Eyssalette valley where, beneath the ice, lies the Lac de Sainte-Marguerite, surrounded by numerous peaks.

The Cabane des Olettes
This day-long circular hike, where you are unlikely to encounter too many other hikers, even in summer, takes place largely in open countryside, allowing you to walk alongside some of the peaks south of Lake Serre-Ponçon, including Pouzenc (2,898m).

This is a great hike that will leave you in awe of the magnificent landscape at Pic de Morgon.
What's more, this route offers great variety.
The Morgon Cirque
The route crosses the superb Boscodon State Forest, continues through the Cirque de Morgon with its small lake, and ends with a descent in wide hairpin bends through the forest on the edge of the Cirque de Bragousse.
Along the way, several viewpoints offer splendid views of the Lac de Serre-Ponçon, the Pic de Morgon and the Cirque de Bragousse.
