Le Ménil walks
The Ménil Route via La Rouauche
A pleasant walk through part of the Vosges forest. Lovely views over the village of Le Ménil and a walk suitable for the whole family. Do take care, however, when passing through ‘La Rouauche’.
The Chapelle des Vés
Set amongst green meadows and pine forests, the route is well worth exploring. The climb from the village of Le Ménil up to the chapel is not very difficult, and the views are superb.
In Le Ménil-Thillot: Tête des Champs, Chapelles de la Salette and Chapelles de Pitié
A superb four-hour walk in the hills above Ménil-Thillot (between Cornimont and Le Thillot), best done in May or June when the meadows and broom are in bloom! This easy walk is an unforgettable foray into the bountiful nature of the Hautes-Vosges.
The Chapelle de Pitié and the Beaudevé sculptures

Three Chapels Circuit
A very beautiful circuit in the hills above Ménil-Thillot. There are a few sections in the forest, but most of the time there are beautiful views in all directions.
From the Chapelle des Vés to the Pic des Corbeaux
A walk to explore the Upper Moselle Valley and the Vosges Ballons, starting at the Chapelle des Vés, passing through the clearing at the Pic des Corbeaux hunters’ shelter before reaching its summit. The return route is shaded, winding through ferns and then the forest.
Col de Morbieux - Grandrupt
A pleasant hike starting from the Col de Morbieux, with lovely views of the Grandrupt valley and the Moselle valley in Ferdrupt.
The two Ballons - Fresse-sur-Moselle
A very pleasant route for trail runners and experienced walkers.Option to take a shortcut if necessary.Avoid in foggy conditions; steep paths.Starts from the centre of Fresse-sur-Moselle and returns to the same point.
Circular forest loop north of Fresse-sur-Moselle
A forest walk with beautiful views over the Moselle valley and the Vosges ridges, from the Ballon de Servance to the summit of the Drumont via La Bouloie. A wonderful adventure offering a glimpse into the history and heritage of this little paradise.
Circular of the ponds from Le Thillot
A beautiful, varied short hike that will take you past a dozen ponds straddling the watershed between the North Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.
Grebiay Route
A pleasant walk, mostly shaded in summer, to soak up the mysterious atmosphere of the Vosges forest. It passes throughlovely mature woodlands and vast fields of ferns, offering some beautiful views of the mountains. The Chalet du Grebiay provides a sheltered spot to stop and enjoy the peace and quiet of the surroundings. If you’re with children, you can shorten the walk to 1 hour (2.8 km) with very little elevation gain.
La Tête du Lait and La Roche du Frey
This is a fairly easy hike through the forest around Tête du Lait, then towards the Vallon shelter and the boundary marker of the three municipalities. Descend via Roche du Frey, where you can take a break and admire the stubble fields of Saint-Maurice. The return journey is via Route du Lait, which overlooks Bussang and Saint-Maurice.
Col des Croix
Hike on the border of the Vosges and Haute-Saône with magnificent panoramic views of the village of Château-Lambert, the upper Ognon valley, the upper Moselle valley and the plateau of a thousand ponds.
Ballon de Servance
Hike to Ballon de Servance.Please note that for this hike, you will need two vehicles, one at (S) at the Col des Croix andthe other at the Sources de Presles reservoir (E). The path leading directly up to the Ballon is a quiet zone and is closed from 15 December to 14 July. See notices
