Hesse walks
Circular loop along the canal and the supply channel in Hesse
An easy route around Hesse that follows the canal, then the Voie Verte and finally the irrigation channel on the way back. The first part is fairly straight but, from Hermelange onwards, it becomes more rural and natural.
Route des Sept Roses in Saint-Quirin
Saint-Quirin is listed as one of the "most beautiful villages in France". A rich heritage of sanctuaries can be discovered in Saint-Quirin and in the parishes belonging to the priory, known as the Sept Roses route. Following this route, you will also pass by the Gallo-Roman site of Croix Guillaume.
Wackenberg Tower
A pleasant short walk suitable for the whole family around Wackenberg, with an elevation gain of less than 100 metres.
The Potos Route in Saint-Quirin
The idea was to go for a walk with friends after two missed meet-ups due to the rain! So I decided to create a route for the occasion, starting from the place where I grew up.
Circular around Lettenbach
Hilly route starting from the hamlet of Lettenbach, taking the Circulaire des Quatre Roches and the Circulaire du Vieux Château. Don't miss a visit to the Verriers Church in the hamlet, which houses the crystal rose (Route des 7 Roses, remarkable chapels and churches around Saint Quirin): Renaissance façade, bulbous bell tower topped with a golden cockerel and covered, like the roof, with larch and spruce shingles. Then explore the archaeological site of Croix Guillaume (habitats, necropolis and quarries).
The two rocks: Rocher du Diable and Rocher du Calice
This moderate-difficulty hike takes you through the forest to discover Abreschwiller and its hamlet of Le Grand Soldat.
After the climb to the Roche du Diable, the route descends towards the hamlet of Le Grand Soldat, where you can see the house of Alexandre Chatrian (1826–1890), a writer born in this hamlet, before climbing up to the Rocher du Calice.
Tour of the Étang du Stock via the Three Bridges
This is a 7.5 km route that alternates between forest paths, canal walks, pondside walks and even an urban section. The elevation gain is very low, and the paths are well maintained and passable even in rainy weather. There are also picnic areas and benches where you can rest. This short hike is ideal for families and presents no difficulty.
The land of ponds: Etang du Stock
This route around one of the largest ponds in the Moselle department (750 hectares) will allow you to discover the freshwater flora and fauna around the Étang du Stock.

Exploring the Walscheid area
A beautiful route exploring the Col du Bloecherplatz, the Roche des Fantômes, the Heidenschlossberg, the Rocher du Hohwalsch, the Gallo-Roman cemetery, the Croix du Beimbach and the Croix du Hengstbourg.
St-Léon - Abreschviller
A walk in the Vosges foothills, under the trees and with a beautiful view of Abreschviller.
I wanted to revisit a walk I used to do regularly with my parents when I was a teenager. Unfortunately, the storm of 1999 took its toll and the path has been completely washed away in places. The Club Vosgien has redefined a new route from Saint-Léon. I preferred to go back 45 years and offer you my retro walk along the original path.
Discover unusual sites starting from Walscheid
Walscheid, a picturesque village at the gateway to the Vosges, is well worth a visit. There are many hiking trails, including this one, which takes in a wealth of attractions such as the Gallo-Roman cemetery, the ruins of Heidenschloss, the Durrenberg promontory and the Saint Léon cave.
Le Grand Rougimont-Chte Turquestein-Roche aux fées
A magnificent hike, with no major difficulties apart from access to the Grand Rougimont - the ruins of Turquestein Castle - the fairy rock and the boundary stone trail, which will take you back to the Middle Ages.
